SoundCity
Hello everyone, I have been lurking on the site for a few months and thank you for all the great information. I have been collecting and listening to vinyl for a number of years now, but I am finally about to upgrade my current system(which is crap) and wanted to get your feedback. My budget is around $1,000 and this is the setup I was looking at: Pro-ject debut carbon Marantz PM5004 Wharfedale Diamond 10.1 Any pros or cons with this setup would be appreciated. I have also looked at saving up a little more and replacing the debut carbon with the Carbon Espirit, but hadn't read many threads on here that mentioned it. Thanks in advance. ajxd
This same thread, with those EXACT components, is brought up about once a month. Use the search function and read what's been previously said.
SoundCity
I apologize. I did not see it, but thank you and this thread can be removed.
ajxd
No worries, it's just a way for you to find every question you probably have! That setup has been deemed the VC Setup. A LOT of people have it.
SoundCity
I did a search and you are right it is everywhere. I guess I still have a question on if it is worth saving up the extra $200 for the Espirit so I can have the built in speed box and acrylic platter? Tardcore
I don't have the speed box but the acrylic platter is nice. I think they each cost about $130 on their own. but if you can swing a discounted standard carbon, it's probably a wash.
