somethingvinyl
Dude, if you're into soul, come check me out at Record Raid. I don't have a ton of LP's (two crates worth) but I have a crap ton of 45's. Lots of local stuff. That K-Doe is pricey there. Bryan is convinced it'll sell. I'm not. I found a VG copy in a collection I got that cost me $2.50. It can be had cheaply. There's a record store in Baton Rogue called Capital City Records that had a sealed one for $20, or something close. It's basically a repress of his first LP. Look, here's a decent on on ebay for half the price: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ernie-K-Doe-New-Orleans-Series-LP-w-Mother-in-Law-Bandy-Rock-R-B-Bllues-/121572918425?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c4e4f8499You could probably message the seller and see what the best price they would take on it would be. batman
Thanks for the shop recommendations. I went to Mushroom (blah), Euclid, and Louisiana Music Factory. Those two were awesome and the dudes there helped me find some good NO style jazz. Now I can't wait to get home and spin these bad boys. thesecrets0308
My brother used to live in Ponchatoula. I used to really enjoy going to this place in Baton Rouge called Atomic Pop Shop. Really friendly staff, one of the girls that works there is super cute. Thought the prices were reasonable. Another to consider and not far from New Orleans. tvham
Heading to New Orleans next week, this thread is a huge help. Random question but I'll be there when the new radiohead single drops - what store(s) are most likely to have it?

Skully'z is much smaller and just has new, but the selection is very VC friendly. tvham
somethingvinyl
I echo Konk's sentiments. You should go to both, but if you only have time to go to one, go to Euclid. Spend a couple hours digging. Call both to see if they have it. Skully'z seems to always get new stuff. Also, you should take time to go to Domino Sound. tvham
