Me first post.

I put "progressive rock" in the search engine here and I get 66 results.

The distinct impression I'm getting is that this is a CHILDREN"S forum: Mars Volta, Riverside, "progressive house" ...ad nauseum.

Please, I hope to be proved wrong.

....

Anyways, I'm going to post up a lp trade list in the appropriate section now.

I like progressive trance, psychedelic goa, and hard house. I didn't realize that stuff came out in the 70's though. I'm 12.

HaHa!

Your killing me.

Blood pressure currently 170 over 85. (But I dont trust the monitor. Will re-check with my old-fashioned ear-aided sphygmomanometer.)

Add fricking Rush's two or three prog lps to that abhorrent list and you will have me under the ground.

How the fuck do you know what a sphygmomanometer is, but you don't know the difference between your and you're?

You are involked to violently destroy any Rush record you ever come upon - even when in the calm of a church.

Destroy and cast salt upon that whiney, pontificating sharn.

I get the feel that coming onboard this forum talking up prog and psych is somewhat akin to that episode "Still" of fourth season Walking Dead.

The audience-yahoos go away scratching their sloped foreheads thinking, "Wot the fox was THAT?"

Loike its all TALK and only two or three zombies at most get head-spiked. No children killed in this episode, crissakes!

Its a reality check.

If no one contributes to this thread standing up for these musics...welll then, what is your conclusion other than no love for those genres here.

Either no love...or total ignorance.

Question also is: what IS the general flow of musical love here?

Looking at some of your collections, I can think of at least three predominant "genres". And, yes....mainstream, child-musics.

Don't get me wrong.

Prog can be amateur, cringeworthy IN LYRIC; childlike as well.

Psych can be stupid love songs.

Hard rock.... even more simple/laughable.

But at the very least IT IS NOT THE STUFF YOU LOT SEEM TO BE LISTENING TO.

Your profile says you are 15. I'm 51. I was listening to old prog at my friend's house in 5th and 6th grade when it was still being made.

There are some proggy folk here, but it's mostly pop punk, most active boards and very educational, but there are great folks with tastes in many genres.

Plz adjust your attitude before I ground you to your room with no electronics for 2 weeks.  (j/k, ;)  but stop being an a$$)
