Howdy,

Right now I have a Yamaha RX-930 and a Pro-ject Debut Carbon. The RX-930 has a built in phono preamp, but I've been thinking about upgrading.

I'm looking at the $100-200 range. Would buying a new preamp be worth it? Would I get much of a difference at all in that price range?

Y'all got any suggestions as far as model goes?

Thank You.

Would it be smart for me to get a new preamp tho? What kind of results would I see?

It's going to be pretty hard for anybody to answer this for you.

I personaly think you would be better off spending your $ on a different integrated amp altogether, but I have no experience with your specific receiver.

I'm kind of new to most of these upgrades, as I've never had the money to buy them. What would a better preamp do for me? (Sorry if this is a stupid question)

And do you have any integrated amps that you could recommend?

If you really have no idea about this stuff, the best thing you can do is your own research. Find 3 or 4 phono pre's within your budget and read reviews. I know it's easier to be spoon fed the answers but if it's something your interested in you'll learn a lot more if you look into it yourself.

EDIT:

Here, this is $50 and he said he's open to offers and shipping is included.

Try it and see if you can tell a difference between that and the phono stage you're using. If you can, keep it for awhile and then upgrade. If you can't, sell it.
