jameshays
Did some garage sale-ing this weekend and wound up with two more turntables, a JVC QL-Y5F and a Pioneer PL-530. The JVC needs some work and the Pioneer seems to be working perfect. I got them both cheaply so my plan was to get them working and A/B them with my Technics 1700mkii. Just wondering if either of those is an obvious choice over the 1700 before I get into the repairs.
circuit bored records
The PL-530 is the best of those three tables IMO
heypeterman
I've owned the Pioneer PL-530 and it's a good turntable but the auto-return mechanism interferes with playback near the end of the record. The JVC has similar auto functions to early 80's high-end Sony and Denon turntables that do not interfere with playback. Also, the JVC is quartz-locked. My vote is for the JVC unless the problems it has are with the auto functions. That could be bad news.
