Just listened to the first side.

 

Didn't like the Young Widows - Teen Spirit.  Weird song to cover, respect the hustle and that they went for something different.  The Kylesa / Boris songs were my favorite from side 1.   Surprised with La Dispute's song as well, wasn't expecting what I heard.  Dug it a lot.

Our second tribute to Nirvana, titled Whatever Nevermind, is out today. This album sees Boris, Cave In, Circa Survive, Kylesa, La Dispute, Nothing, Pygmy Lush, Thou, Torche, Touche Amore, White Reaper, Wrong and Young Widows running the classic Nevermind album through their diverse creative filters, and we couldn't be happier with the results.

 

The vinyl is released today to coincide with Record Store Day 2015, but for all those who weren't able or close enough to a participating store to attend, we have a mailorder-edition of this release available now in our Online Store:

Side Two - Wasn't expecting Circa's Survive cover to sound like it did, not super into the band but I like Anthony's voice in the lower register / raspier.  Liked the touche song when it got heavy.  Wrong / Circa / Nothing were my fav's from this side.

 

I was skeptical to buy this, Nirvana is a tough band to cover but everyone killed it for the most part.

Just to clarify what I've read and to keep the collection complete, it's just the opaque and the translucent blues for variants, right? No black like last year? Amped to get this in the mail, I never cared much for Nirvana but these comps are always really well done.
