Blaine
He played a few of the new songs at Bonnaroo this year, and they were good. Were they closer to the fuzzy-blues or neo-R&B vibe from Blak And Blu?
kramer73
If I remember, a little closer to fuzzy blues, but there were a couple of slower songs. I didn't really pick up the Blak and Blu vibe as much, which is definitely good. He played a new song to close the set, and it killed. wbhendrix
here in Austin all the local clubs and 6th street bands have stories about Gary Clark. I was watching a great blues band a few months ago and i went up and talked to the drummer after the show.. turns out he was playing with Gary a few years ago and left that band start playing with this new band... i said "ouch, big mistake?" he took a puff of his cig, took a long look at the street and said "... yeah." agaetisbyrjun and KingTacoMunster

Blak And Blu seemed too inconsistent, and the album didn't flow well, but there were definitely some stand out tracks.
kramer73
Yeah, I can't promise there won't be any songs similar to those on Blak and Blu, but the 5 that he played were good. A couple of them were solo as well. I think I read somewhere that he played all instruments on this new album. Blaine

kleraudio
fuck this guy is gold. going to see him in April next year at the Ogden in Denver. Can't wait for this album to drop.
agaetisbyrjun
Really enjoying this. He's been able to incorporate his experiments in various genres much more seamlessly than on Blak & Blue. It feels a lot less fragmented & all over the place that that album did
