bobpaul
really interesting release here. you can hear tobacco and black moth super rainbow, but it's so much easier to listen to. think of his past records, with a little influence from tycho or boards of canada. there are even four previous songs from the label created in the style of the new album. http://www.radcult.bigcartel.com/product/high-tides-12-lp-preorder-ships-august-2015 20 US dollars. you can also listen to the entire record I believe at the bandcamp site: https://hightidesvibes.bandcamp.com/ there are about 70 left for sale at the bandcamp site, too. HoneyFrosted
I love almost all Tobacco and BMSR releases, but everything else he chooses to get involved in really falls flat with me. Demon Queen was really meh, and this is much of the same. It sounds like proto-chillwave from seven years ago rather than a new exciting project. I also find it irritating that four songs from the album are remixes of Tobacco tunes, effectively making it a 6 song album with bonuses. Sorry for the negativity off the bat, I just don't have anywhere else to vent about this.
monsterrod
Yeah, I'm with HoneyFrosted in that I found it to be really stale. I usually jump at Rad Cult stuff but this just isn't doing it for me. Thanks for posting though, hopefully it'll resonate with someone else over here.
