What were the first 5 albums you bought? (cds/cassette/vinyl)

Recommended Posts

What were the first albums you bought for yourself / asked for gift when you were getting into music???  I imagine that most people here bought CD's first - but if your first purchases really were cassettes or vinyl, put those!

this is also really hard, since I'm sure I'm forgetting earlier purchases for the ones I remember distinctively listening to a lot.

note: that now cd your older sibling jammed to and you sometimes borrowed to listen to does not count!

My list is all CDs:

1.  Sum 41- All Killer No Filler

2.  Eminem - 8 Mile

3.  Good Charlotte - The Young & The Hopeless

4.  Offspring - Splinter

5.  Linkin Park - Meteora

Nirvana - Nevermind

Green Day - Dookie

Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath

Nirvana - Bleach

Beatles - Abbey Road

From what I can remember those are the first 5 albums I purchased, all on cassette. I bought Nevermind when I was 8 after I heard them on MTV. Damn did I get lucky. Lucky that I heard them and lucky that my parents didn't bother to listen to them before they let me buy it.

Matchbox 20 - Yourself Or Someone Like You

Nirvana - From The Muddy Banks of the Wishkah

Gorillaz - Gorillaz

Santana - Supernatural

No Doubt - Tragic Kingdom

Now, the ones I was given before that were a completely different story hahaha

I will forever love that mb20 album. I hope it gets a repressing.

My god, thinking 11/12 years back on the CD's was difficult, haha. Like stated above, these might not be the very first five I purchased but it has to be pretty damn close. Somehow I still remember a couple of the stores I purchased these at.

CD's:

Slipknot - Slipknot

Mudvayne - The End Of All Things To Come

Lamb of God - Ashes Of The Wake (Fry's Electronics)

System Of A Down - Steal This Album (Christmas present from older brother)

Slipknot - Vol. 3 The Subliminal Verses (Target on day of release, actually ditched class with a buddy to go get it)

Vinyl:

The Acacia Strain - Continent (Very first record purchase in '09)

The Black Dahlia Murder - Miasma

Between The Buried And Me - Colors

Ion Dissonance - Solace
