kgry
One of my best memories from being in high school at the height of the alternative thing in 92 was being a big STP fan when Core came out. Was never into alternative music and when Core came out I thought this is something a metal guy can get into. But everyone at the time was bashing them because they thought Scott tried to sound like Eddie Vedder. I was like, who cares, this music is way more rocking then Pearl Jam. Still not into 90's alternative music and now it's become a nostalgia act, which makes me feel old. Anyway, RIP Scott. Great front man, tragic soul. Mars
Honestly lasted much longer than I thought he would. . . so not at all shocking, but still surprising and sad. Gone, gone, the damage done.

thesecrets0308
another piece of my childhood ripped away. Indeed. One of my cornerstone bands as a kid and never was the same after the split. Bad news to wake up to today.

kramer73
Saw him and the band on the Purple tour back in 1994. Definitely a great show. Sad to see him gone, but at the same time surprised it wasn't sooner.

My Big 12"
When STP announced their singer search, I laughed at first, and then thought why? THEN, my good womans friends teamed up, bought me an hour of studio time and told me to enter the thing. I did the recording in one take and felt that it was more of my own personal tribute than really seeking, or even wanting to actually be chosen lol, but I did it. Here is a link to a video I made of my own version of Trippin' On A Hole In A Paper Heart. I purposely made the guy recording me make my vocals more up front. I always felt the original song, although great, had Scott pushed too far back in the mix. This was done in all resoect for the band and Scott R.I.P. I just thought he would make it to old bones after he survived as long as he did, but alas he is gone. I miss him too.
