cantdance
^^^this Also people actually think freestyle 4 is a good track? I think the middle of the album is a huge downshift from the rest (talking ULB through Wolves)
toomanyrecords
I like the raw energy of Freestyle 4. It's frantic, and keeps the energy up despite the track not being as sonically interesting as ones around it.

dantheriver
Kanye could fart into a harmonica and you'd like it Kess I think I would too, but purely because I imagine it would sound funny. Farts are always funny.
floyd_z
Absolutely love Waves but "sun don't shine every day, bird can't fly in a cage" is worse to me than the bleached asshole line.I f I feel like 'waves' would have been better without Chris Brown. I wish artists would just stop collabing with him altogether. Such a turd.

Reshiram
I don't think Kanye would let something finger-shaped that close to his butt. According to Amber Rose, he would love something finger shaped up his ass.

cwhitmuzik
waves is worse than famous because Chris brown actually beat a woman rather than just saying gross stuff. famous rules except the verses. downisthenewup87
The extreme tonal shift from Graduation to 808s is unlike any artist that I can think of - at least in terms of back to back albums. The extreme emotions conveyed with the unconventional production that proved to be a guidebook for a lot of music nowadays is not to be taken lightly. Seeing him sell out two back to back shows at the Hollywood Bowl last year JUST playing this album is proof. Uh... not a Radiohead fan then? Also, 808 is his worst album hands down IMO. Honestly, this album is the first of his that I've really dug since Graduation. But I also wish it ended after Wolves.

timsimmons
I like the Radiohead comparisons in terms of shift. I really felt like this album is his kind of Kid A/Amnesiac shift. Its a departure for the most part, but lots of threads to the older sound. Also the reception of the album reminds me alot of how Kid A was perceived upon release. Good, but not memorable. 808s will go down as a classic, it was by far the most important R&B/Hip-Hop album of the latter half of the 2000's decade. Has the most nostalgic for me though and Flashing Lights is still my favourite Kanye song. Can't believe people are comparing Kanye to Radiohead. I believe the previous guy meant OK Computer/Kid A btw.
