I should look into clearing the duties/taxes myself so I can avoid that.
mucusoffmybrain
Reddit user states it's pressed at 33rpm https://www.reddit.com/r/radiohead/comments/557cr5/amsp_special_edition_received/

jonnywreck
Well shit... I guess there's not REALLLY a reason to buy this. It looks cool and all, but I could have sworn the description used to say "45 rpm," but maybe I was conflating that with the "78 rpm shellac records" listed as the inspiration. Fuck. Yes. I was really not looking forward to shelling out 86.50, though I was THIS close to pulling the trigger on this so many times. This whole thing has triggered the PTSD I experienced when I missed the In Rainbows deluxe edition.
Shelby
My white copy still has plenty of surface noise, if this pressing is better I'll be happy.
andynz
For those of you that have spun the special edition pressing... How does it sound? Does it suffer from the pressing issues the white and standard did? (especially on side c) Edited September 30, 2016 by andynz

bossdj26
So are we supposed to take the records out of the white sleeves? Legitimately confused.

Not just for the peace of mind, but also for those of us with typical Monday-Friday office hours that work out of town, and dread the hassle that comes with finding a pink slip stuck to the door upon arrival. I haven't checked my shipping info; I think I'm okay with being surprised whenever it may show up.
Cloudsbelow
Mine will be delivered (to my office) before the work day ends.. weeee ahead of the monday estimate. are we 100% that its 33rpm? will spin as soon as I get home 5:15pst and report back.. my white copy is pretty darn clean so no complaints from me there. I get all my packages delivered to work. Win/win for me. I get it a few hours earlier, and it's handed directly to the doorman or my company's front desk lady. No sweats. kannibal
I received mine (at work FTW) earlier today. I checked it against the Optimal pressing on Discogs, and the deadwax matches exactly. So if you already have an optimal pressed standard edition, and you ordered a special edition, now you have two.

timsimmons
The better plant for sure (vs Rainbo), but their white pressing had issues like the Rainbo, but I think less widespread. Thats disappointing that there is no difference from the June pressing, especially speed.
kannibal
Yes, but neither were without problems. My Optimal standard has some slight surface noise in a couple of places and a couple of pops, but nothing compared to the worst examples out there. I have yet to listen to my Special Edition. Shelby
I was hoping it would be Optimal since my white is Rainbo. Excellent. lethalenforcer
