We release bedroom pop, indie rock, electronic and hip hop from the New England area on limited runs of cassette tapes with alternate color variants. We've done everything to create the highest quality package possible - our tapes are professionally dubbed in real-time on chrome plus tape, housed by custom color shells featuring full-color labels with J-cards and clear cases. We individually hand-number each tape, wrap them in parchment paper and seal them in wax. We even toss in some New England real maple hard candy with each order. We already have quite a few releases lined up for the coming months, but our first is a fantastic local indie rock / folk album:Badfellows - The Happy Hunting Grounds Limited to 25 copies on campfire orange shells. Over the last few years, the've slowly perfected their blend of raw, chugging guitar chords with folk-style strings and a razor-sharp sense of melody. "The Happy Hunting Grounds" sees Badfellows at their best, delivering a series of lyrical vignettes that offer glimpses into the gloom of rural life. "Heaven" explores the monotony of romantic dependency with a self-depricating sense of sarcasm, whereas "Loud + Dumb" showcases envy for the blissful ignorance of a noisy neighbor. Each track is presented with a triumphant, orchestral stride that translates their drunken misery into powerful anthems of modern apathy. I actually don't work with Audio Geography - these shells are done by a single dedicated paint guy that we've been working with since we started. The black / silver swirl variant sold out, but there are still some copies of the sky blue / clear split available on our Bandcamp! Veering away from country and folk influences in favor of 90s-flavored alternative rock, "Personal Beehive" sees the band at their most essential. Originally the lost soundtrack to a titular short film, "Shelly" quickly became a fully-formed vision of its own. intricate guitar arrangements establish a dark atmosphere, accompanied by whispered vocals and murky ambience. Melodically, the songs possess a tragic sort of familiarity, like old lullabies or nursery rhymes - reminders of happiness since faded. On the entirely instrumental B side, Bunny Boy explores similar themes with hypnotic synth patterns and hissing analog loops, allowing the album to breathe as it expands its strange universe.
