ATARIAME "WEIRDO GOES TO THE DISCO"  CASSETTE OUT NOW!

 

 

Just like any label Rok Lok receives truckloads of demo submissions and it usually takes me months to get a chance to listen to them. After listening to one unsavory demo after another I about to scream "uncle" but then it happens- I open the email and I listen to a demo that just knocks my socks off. And that is precisely what happened when I listened to Russian based Atariame. I was greeted by a brand of dark, droning, new wave/synth pop stylings with tinges of bedroom shoegaze-y esque folk. All of these sonic elements remind me of I Break Horses, Sea Oleena and even Rok Lok alum White Blush. Atariame's lush, dreamy sounds have recently left the bedroom with a recent tour of eastern Europe and the American cassette edition of "Weirdo Goes to the Disco" will only to continue to introduce Atariame to new listeners. "Weirdo Goes to the Disco" is limited to an edition of 40 white clam-shell C-45 cassettes with full color labels and glossy full color double sided j-cards.
