Did I break my stylus with a Magic Eraser?

Recommended Posts

I was cleaning my old Kenwood turntable with a Magic Eraser and decided to use said Eraser to wipe off the N-52 needle. Then when I tried to play a record with it, the needle simply glides right across the record. After some googling, it seems I shouldn't have rubbed the Eraser across the needle. Have I broken my needle? I'm not sure what else it would be as it was working fine until I cleaned it off.
