Vinyl Exams Posted April 25, 2017 Share Posted April 25, 2017 I was hesitant to buy this record because of the glow-in-the-dark vinyl, but I love TBA so I gave it a shot. Just as I suspected, it sounds like crap. This is why I always prefer black vinyl to any colored/swirled/marbled vinyl. As soon as I dropped the needle (a.k.a. stylus) on the record, I heard a hissing sound. I tried my second turntable and had the same result (my needles are brand new and clean as a whistle). What makes it even worse is that it seems the hissing gets louder as the record plays. The music is great, of course, but that hissing sound is TOTALLY ANNOYING.
