Dassit
I'm thinking of selling a record on ebay. I can't seem to find any information regarding the cost of insurance for media mail and how much $$ it covers. Could someone help me out with that? I could just ask for $10 shipping but I prefer not being THAT guy.
Thomas³
It depends on the cost you are insuring it for. I recently sent something that was covered for $50, and it was like $2.30 for insurance.

This would be the second time I sell on ebay. Im a noob, lol.
dethrock
Back when I used to sell more stuff I'd charge X amount for shipping and tell them I'd refund them the difference if it cost less. Everyone was cool with that and I was always honest about how much money I'd send them back. Dassit
Kyle_ftl
I think the one thing I always considered when I tried selling on eBay is that insurance was kind of a way that I covered myself in case something goes wrong, an eBay buyer gets difficult, etc. If I really wanted insurance on my item, it was likely because the item was a high ticket item. Ultimately, what is an extra $2-4 on a purchase you are making 90-150? I guess it makes sense because insurance keeps the transaction safe for everyone involved, but I always just viewed it like that. I still don't understand why the "media mail" option caps shipping costs at a certain amount anyway. It would sometimes cost me more to ship it after tracking than eBay would be willing to let me charge. I just wasn't the best eBay seller ever.
