ray weiland
Maybe someone can help me get info on a Blondie item I have seen. It is a black vinyl 7" w/blank white labels. It comes with a 8x10 black and white xerox photo of the band w/record and band info on other side of photo. I don't know what songs on on disc, but assume it was put out prior to private label release. Both disc and photo came in a plastic magazine sleeve. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Ray
Roandy55
Is this something you have seen for sale somewhere? It pretty much sounds like a test press which have become more frequently available in recent years, so really the only way to find out which song it is would be to play it. You could possibly try and gauge the era by checking the band photo.

vinyl addict
Sounds like a 7" that was sent out to radio stations etc. I have a bunch of LPs with similar stuff (pics of band, a paper with band history printed on it , etc.)
chiefwahoo
My thoughts as one of the old fart collectors around here... Is it a large hole USA pressing? Or a small hole UK-type pressing? You say it has the record info on the other side of the photo, you don't remember any of that info? The dead wax inscriptions (or lack thereof) would be a good start as to what exactly this is. But some sort of item they mailed out before they signed to a label...which is what I think you're suggesting...is unlikely. Her fanbase is rabid enough that you'd find it documented online somewhere already. My guess is that it's a bootleg. If it 's legit, I'd expect it to be a test pressing...especially if it's a small hole record...but for the labels to be blank/clean, I'd hold my breath on it being something legit. (For example, can you imagine a band promoting their music in the 90s/00s by sending out a CD-R with a press sheet and not writing on the disc?) But anything is possible! If you find out more info, please post it.

There are plenty of bootleg versions currently around but the original does seem to come up on ebay occasionally. https://www.discogs.com/Blondie-1975-Demos/release/3768217 This seller has the original disc only without the photo. http://www.cdandlp.com/en/blondie/1975-demos/7inch-sp/r3064797364/ Edited April 12, 2017 by Roandy55 Added further information Velocity of Sound and vinyl addict
ray weiland
Roandy55 That's it. Thanks, now I know what to search for. A buddy just let me know he knows a guy that has one he will sell for $200. Sounds a bit steep to me. Thanks for all the info.

NapalmBrain
sells without the insert routinely for $50, I'd say it's worth $70-100. The only time it sold for over $200 it was signed by the band. A little steep for me, but I'd love a copy some day I have lots of Blondie rarities already including a promo copy of the first album on private stock, a japanese copy of eat to the beat, the mofi of parallel lines and a bunch of 7" fuckinandsuckinandtouchin
