kramer73
Apparently there was some miscommunication with their management, and they asked Subpop to wait until next week to put them back up.

While they'll probably be back up next week, I have seen one Loser edition completely sell out ahead of release & not even make it into Seattle record shops - the reissue for Built to Spill's There's Nothing Wrong With Love
museummouth
I feel like they pulled it because the new Bully went up for pre-order today or yesterday (?) and they want to stagger releases.

museummouth
Ultramega OK didn't sell out before street date. I got mine about a week after it released.

Again, Sub Pop said the management for Afghan Whigs asked them to pull it. Edited August 2, 2017 by kramer73
jcastrianni
I think management asked them to pull it because they already had one announcement about the release of the cover of You Need Love last week and wanted to give that sone time to get traction before announcing the reissues. Being a big fan of the label, I bought every single new Sub Pop release last year and some of them did sell out before release. Depends on the band. I've never had an issue getting a Loser Edition. Sometimes I even pick them up after street date. And they've definitely never sold out in a week. But that's not the issue here. They will be back up next week. Just a management thing.

phabletzza
Anything cooler (besides color) about these vs. the OG pressings? Heavier weight, smaller pressings?
machine0a
The Congregation repress is 2LP @ 45rpm and Uptown Avondale was a German only pressing on 7" & 12". Not seeing that there was remaster.

Plarocks
Saw the band in Richmond yesterday...they were AWESOME! I ALMOST bought a copy of "Do To The Beast" from the merch table, as I wanted a pressing other than white. Originally passed on it because I was low on cash, and the black vinyl is plentiful. However, NOW I find out they are selling CLEAR copies ON TOUR!!?? Can anyone please pick me up a copy tonight in Philly, or NYC, Chicago...etc? I just LOVE clear vinyl! Why didn't I follow my gut, and picked this up last night? Edited September 12, 2017 by Plarocks

Went to the show in Mtl and was gonna check for ya if they had the clear DTTB - they had ZERO merch, they apparently shipped everything to Minneapolis to avoid having to deal with Cdn customs stuff....blaaargh. Show was eeeexcellent though.

I liked the "cover songs" better during the Richmond set, but the Whigs performance was INCREDIBLE in Brooklyn. The energy was so high there with SO MANY adoring fans in the crowd. I was so glad I splurged and drove up. They were down to 5 copies of DTTB. I grabbed TWO.
