Ages ago people only really had the radio, magazines and record stores to find music to obsess over. Their labels paid radio stations to play them, magazines to feature them and record stores to have them displayed prominently – they were forced down the world's throats, and thus became "the classics" because they were the biggest bands in the world, not the best. Quite a few pops and crackles, but other than that it plays and sounds great. I thought it would feel stranger listening to it than it did. Still a fantastic album. Right place right time for the Beatles it isn't actually possible for a band to grow to that amount of popularity anymore because of how things have changed.
