New album has me excited!

But if these are just straight re-issues on colour, no re-mix/master, I'll stick with my Swami versions.

Might do this as well. Not sure if it pushes anyone over the fence or not, but it looks like Automatic Midnight is on orange, Suicide Invoice is on yellow, and Audit In Progress is on pink. Odd choices for 2 of the 3.

Audit was already pressed on red.

Reason for the orange color per Wikipedia:

As a visual artist and illustrator Froberg provided all of the artwork for the album. Although the artwork and cover themselves are black on white, the CDrelease is packaged in a translucent orange jewel case and the LP in translucent orange shrink wrap, giving the packaged album an orange color.”

i think the orange for auto midnight is cuz the cd was in a clear orange case back in the day.  pink for audit probably cuz the og was in red

edit: @MtrCtyWx beat me to it hahaha

Orange jewel case or not, with a white sleeve you could really have any color vinyl for Automatic Midnight and I wouldn't complain. But I'm really not feeling the pink vinyl paired with the red Audit in Progress sleeve. That's my least favorite so I'm not hard-pressed to get it anyway. I have Suicide Invoice, may pick up Auto Midnight at some point.

Definitely excited for the new album and seeing them Sunday night!

Had no idea they were playing.  Seattle tickets sold out of course.  Wish I would pay more attention to shit like this.

I feel like they sold out within a week of going up - glad I jumped on them the first day. Had a feeling after Drive Like Jehu sold out at Showbox much earlier than I expected (I held out thinking I had plenty of time), that Chop Suey would sell out really fast. And it did.

Just saw them last night in Cambridge and they fucking RIPPED. I’ve seen RFTC, Jehu, Obits, and honestly think this might have been the best. The new songs have me pumped too.

I meant to come back in here and post after the show last Sunday. RIPPED is accurate! What a fucking blast that was. I've not seen the other bands but that was definitely one of the most ripping shows I've seen in some time.

reissues just landed for, the remasters sound amaaaaazing - can't figure out how to embed an instagram post, but here are pix of mine - https://www.instagram.com/p/BeTooVXDaej

Who said they were remastered?

Golden is in all the matrix on all issues of these. I was under the impression they used the same plates

john golden does wonderful work and is capable of mastering all analog (unsure if these were recorded to tape or not), I have many albums with his name in the deadwax and they are all killer. I kinda forgot about these, I need to get them all at some point will probably start with Suicide Invoice as its my fav

The Swami pressings cut at Golden Mastering sound incredible. Do the Sub Pop reissues have GOLDEN in the dead wax? I wouldn't expect they used the same stampers for some reason.

Dave Gardner - mastering engineer - http://www.thepictaram.club/share/BeI8OwvlzMP

Thanks! Obviously the recordings were remastered by him from the original tapes for all formats (CD/MC/LP). It does not imply he also cut the lacquers though. It's a different step in the process. I don't know if he cuts lacquers at all?

Based on the "GOLDEN" stamp w/ no other initials, you have to figure John cut the lacquers.

The Swami pressings have GOLDEN in the run-out. I don't know about the Sub Pop reissues. But those are the ones which were remastered by Dave Gardner. Remains unanswered who cut lacquers for the reissues unfortunately...
