joshtank
deadtankrecords.com Chepang "Dadhelo - A Tale of Wildfire" LP $12.00 The first full length assault from Nepal’s “immigrindcore” battalion. Driven by breakneck dual drum blasting and the blazing fervor of their message delivered from the turmoil of their homeland. A twisted cacophony of riff carnage and the desperate howling frenzy of multiple singers. Impassioned Gurkha grindcore commandos igniting a cleansing fire. Red Death "Formidable Darkness" LP $15.50 Everything that made 2015’s Permanent Exile LP and 2016’s Deterrence EP modern classics has been amplified on the new album: the solos soar higher, the riffs penetrate deeper, the rhythm section pounds harder and with more precision, and the vocals are more unhinged. From their first practice in D.C. some four years ago, Red Death have been heirs to the proudest of traditions in the heavy-music underground, and with Formidable Darkness they’ve fulfilled their immense promise — just in time for the world’s ignominious end. As it was written, so it shall be. Disintegration "Cruel Slaughter" TAPE $5.50 East coast grind featuring members of Cellgraft, Vorator, Sacridose and Antichrist Siege Machine worshiping at the altar of Utopia Banished-era Napalm Death. For fans of Terrorizer, Carcass, RIFFS, and thinking about slit throats. Northless "Last Bastion of Cowardice" 2xLP $21.00 Since the band’s inception in 2007, Milwaukee’s Northless has been at the forefront of all things sludgy, noisy, and misanthropic. Now in their tenth year, the band brings us their newest full-length, Last Bastion of Cowardice. Throughout the last decade, Northless has honed in on many of the darkest parts of the human condition as inspiration for their brooding, heavy dirges. Dawn Ray'd "The Unlawful Assembly" LP $12.00 Dawn Ray'd willingness to push their musical boundaries as far as their political convictions sets them apart in an often stagnant scene, and I'm fully comfortable pointing to The Unlawful Assembly as one of 2017's finest extreme metal recordings. Tropiezo "La Historia de Tropiezo 1997-2017" LP $12.00 Tropiezo has been a mainstay of hardcore/punk in Puerto Rico for 20 years now. This LP collects tracks from their releases over the years, showcasing the ripping energy of these punk lifers. All money from this release has already been donated to hurricane relief, and all digital sales will be as well. IFB rules supreme. Fragment "In The Dust" LP $12.50 Debut LP from Halifax, Nova Scotia's crasher crusties Fragment. A full on attack of raw feedback and reverb saturated crust punk in the tradition of Gloom. This crew has been making crusty noise happen in northern Canada for years (many will be familiar with Contagium in which a couple of these guys played) and they know how to write a killer song. Unlike many bands that take this kind of wall of reverb approach to crust (say Framtid or Ferocious X) Fragment draws less on the Swedish classics in their riffs and more on the early crust scene in England. The dark energy of Deviated Instinct or Axegrinder is definitely an influence here. Active Minds "The Age of Mass Distraction" LP $10.00 Active Minds is a band with awe-inspiring consistency. In 6 LPs over 30 years, Active Minds has refined their style to a fine-tuned, tightly-balanced mixture of many of the things we love about punk. Two guys with an intensely deep knowledge of punk music (can't have record collections that large without picking up a thing or two) that bring melody and catchy under the same umbrella as thrash and speed, knowing when to write memorable sing-a-longs and when to write short/fast/loud ragers, strip it all down to the bare sonic minimums, and use it to channel some of the most thoughtful and blunt political lyrics this side of Crass. Perfect. Pregnancy "Demo" 7" $6.00 Bowel churning mongo goregrind from Melbourne Australia. Rancid layers of feculent down tuned riff filth. Their 2013 demo finally released on vinyl. Members of Internal Rot, Doubled Over, Roskopp, Contaminated, etc. Rash / C.H.E.W split 7" $6.50 "Two ballsy, provocative and dynamic Chicago bands, each hammering through their songs with a single-minded intensity. C.H.E.W. submerge the occasional post-punk element into an aggressive and charging sonic fray, while RASH continue to screech and squall their way through their face-melting hardcore compositions. Both provide a loud and dark scream from the soul." -- Al Quint deadtankrecords.com
joshtank
recent additions. http://deadtankrecords.com ** ISS "Endless Pussyfooting" TAPE New full length tape from ISS, North Carolina super group consisting of Edwin J Schneider y cuidado Ricardo Poison Ivey of the Whatever Brain Flannel family tree. If you heard the first one, you know whats up. This one expounds on the ground they already laid out. All drums are samples from punk drum breaks. ** Uniform "No Trending" LP "As technology continues to overpower norms, government, and man himself, No Trending finds Uniform exploring the evaporating boundaries of programming and free will, of vain spikes and no-states, of calculus and chance. Terminating psalms for a world more steeped in apocalypse than we know, odes to the realization that nothing can be realized. Bleak outlook in the eyes of a hopeful painter, harnessing the various negative and less negative energies of Atlanta into something profound, a humanity oddly synthetic." ** Warchild "Haunting Images of Human Tragedy" LP Warchild from Umeå, Sweden some great D-beat here. ** Lebenden Toten "Mind Parasites" LP Years in the making, an incredible new LP from legendary Portland punks Lebenden Toten. Noise drenched insanity, execution bar none. Includes a foldout lyric poster. Edited December 19, 2017 by joshtank

joshtank
Fractured "Recognized By Failure" 7" $7.00 CROSSED OUT, GORDON SOLIE MOTHERFUCKERS influenced U.S hardcore. 10 fast songs about alcohol abuse, junior high and the shit culture. Guest appearance by Mr. Jenkins! FRACTURED just played the POWER VIOLENCE PROJECT DOCUMENTARY. The band has members of TO THE POINT, INFEST, ACTUARY CAVE STATE, LACK OF INTEREST and FALSE NEGATIVE! For fans of INFEST, WEEKEND NACHOS, CROSSED OUT, MDC. View Cryptae "Cryptae" TAPE $7.00 Fans of Portal, Altarage, and similarly deviated death metal, take note. Netherlands-based experimental death metal deviants Cryptae (who feature in their ranks members of experimental mind-benders like Dead Neanderthals and Celestial Bodies), debut with a demo/EP which attempts to dismantle the mind from within and aberrate the already aberrant even further. Building upon their gruesomely warped 90s death metal roots, and constructing angular, cerebral, and mentally abusive experimental rock/free jazz abstractions on top, Cryptae appear to have borrowed directly from the most deranged experimental/noise rock/raw punk (Swans, Magma, Discharge) to disfigure their already bludgeoning death metal deliriums beyond repair. The premise is the twisted and murky death metal of progenitors Immolation, Incantation, Morbid Angel etc. but the end conclusion stretches far beyond the realm of the graspable or the sane, into a place of omnipotent sonic wretchedness where even the most harrowing premises are crushed into a chasm of abhorrent and devouring experimentalism. View Phobia "Lifeless God" LP $15.50 Solidifying themselves as the undisputed kings of the grindcore underworld, PHOBIA return with their 6th full length album: Lifeless God. Not straying far from the formula that they have been crafting for over 26 years, this is another chapter to Phobia's legacy of unrelenting speed. Tracked at Trench studios with engineer John Haddad, Lifeless God is 20 tracks of no bullshit, pure fucking grind that is punk as fuck, and never slows down! Out from the ashes, and ready to annihilate, Phobia have set their iron sights on the entire planet… and they are fucking pissed! View Neanderthal "A History of Violence" LP $18.00 The long lost Neanderthal discography finally emerges from it’s cave to see the light of day. Eight anthems of destruction (5 tracks from the 1990 “Fighting Music” 7” on Slap A Ham, 2 tracks from the 1990 Neanderthal/Rorschach split 7” on Vermiform, and one track from the 1991 “Bllleeeeaaauuurrrrgghhh!” compilation 7” on Slap A Ham). Without Neanderthal there would be not Powerviolence. Nanderthal was Eric Wood (Man Is the Bastardand/Cross Out), Matt Domino (Infest), and Joe Denunzio (Infest). A must have for anyone interested in Infest, Man Is The Bastard, Charred Remains, Weekend Nachos, or Lack of Interest. This is a discography of all released recordings. One sided with Neanderthal etching on B side. Let the games begin! View

A 5-piece from Philadelphia, S-21’s music highlighted the experiences of historically marginalized voices— those of POC and first generation immigrants navigating the punk scene and society as a whole. Taking its name from the illegal bombings conducted by the US in Cambodia starting in 1969, “Operation Menu” continues the band’s message, addressing issues of U.S. imperialism, intergenerational trauma and genocide, toxic masculinity, and loss of language and culture through assimilation. Following in the footsteps of their first EP “Year Zero”, expect even further refined pummeling, heavy, dirty and driven hardcore punk fueling the unrelenting vocals and lyrics. The total sales on 20% of the pressing will be donated to non-profits benefiting refugees, displaced people and immigrants.
joshtank
VRTRA tape version finally out! https://deadtankrecords.com/collections/recent-arrivals-restocks/products/vrtra-my-bones-hold-a-stillness-tape VRTRA's debut release is a monumental hell-spawned beast that will crush the listener with the force of a cataclysm. Comprised of three colossal movements of oozing negativity for a total of over thirty minutes of completely abhorrent blackened death-doom chaos, VRTRA have created an opera of abysmal imagination and of fathomless destructiveness, in which the primordial extreme metal fire of behemoths like Dead Congregation, Dragged Into Sunlight, Ulcerate, Diocletian, and Deasphell Omega is blown out of control by the swelling and foreboding atmospheres of bands like Neurosis, Unearthly Trance, Altar of Plagues, Disembowelment, and Blut Aus Nord. joshtank
Asylum "Modern Hysteria" LP $15.00 An 11-track full-length that highlights all the reasons you love crust. With the warm familiar feelings of bands like Nausea or Amebix, Modern Hysteria hits you with hardcore moments you’d expect from Anti Cimex or Crucifix. http://deadtankrecords.com/products/asylum-modern-hysteria-lp Left Cross "Chaos Ascension" LP $15.00 Chaos Ascension proves that Richmond’s Left Cross has no capacity for restraint. The Richmond Death Metal group returns after a sold out 7” for eight hymns to glory and conquest recklessly erode any hope of mercy, brutalizing with crushing precision and leaving the vanquished dead on the field. http://deadtankrecords.com/products/left-cross-chaos-ascension-lp Fister / Chrch split LP $14.50 Chrch is heavily influenced by traditional doom, psych rock, drone, and ambience. CHRCH cannily wields dynamic songwriting, musicianship, and raw power to spin a spellbinding tale of occult darkness that clashes with illuminating melodies and riffs drenched in grimy reverb. Fister provide one new soul crushing track to this new release. The band, as before, incorporates heavy influences from the black and death metal genres into a depressing sludge spewing heaviness that many have attempted, but few have mastered. Black Heart Procession, The "The Waiter Chapters I-VIII" LP $17.80 Originally pressed as a limited tour only CD with 7 songs, it quickly sold out. Now available on vinyl for the very first time, tracks 6 & 7 cannot be found on any studio album and the collection now includes a brand new, never released Waiter song, track 8! We have clear vinyl in stock. The Black Heart Procession has sought to bring their unique dream of winter to life for nearly 2 decades. Over the course of 6 full-length LPs and numerous ancillary offerings, their songs have captured the essence of heartbreak, the tragedy of discord and the exultation of redemption. Through it all, a mysterious figure, known only as The Waiter, has made intermittent yet poignant appearances – his is a world of cold, sorrow and loss, which we experience through his ceaseless turning of memory and dream. http://deadtankrecords.com/products/black-heart-procession-the-the-waiter-chapters-i-viii-lp Pg. 99 "Document #8" LP $22.50 Purple vinyl / 500 copies. Over the course of their mere five-year existence, Sterling, Virginia’s Pageninetynine redefined what punk rock could be. This venerable squad of miscreants from the outskirts of the nation’s capital incorporated aspects of nearly every heavy music sub- genre into a tornado of punk fury, releasing a plethora of albums, singles, splits and more, touring relentlessly and inspiring a dedicated, diehard fanbase. Newly repressed version of Document 8 comes on purple colored vinyl encased in purple silk screened jackets complements of Broken Press in Seattle, WA. joshtank
New / restocks http://deadtankrecords.com ** Rememberables, The "s/t" LP The Rememberables (members of Coke Bust, Walk the Plank, etc.), from Washington D.C., deliver a modern blend of grunge, power pop and fuzzy 90s alternative, reminiscent of Superchunk, Weezer, & Dinosaur Jr., on their infectious debut album. Seven blistering tracks serve as a perfect accompaniment for your summer drive -- windows down, hair blowing, engine roaring fast down endless highways. ** No Future "Demo" TAPE Australian import. Female fronted raw punk band. ** Last Chaos "No" LP Australian import. Last Chaos play straight-forward hardcore punk, veering into Finnish/Japanese/d-beat-y/raw punk-y territory of songwriting but without becoming an overt genre-exercise, saved by a compelling style of riff-crafting that is both familiar and distinct, sometimes rocking with an energetic swagger and sometimes lurching forward with a forlorn stomp. The playing is tight, with booming and driving drums propelling everything with a satisfying momentum, guitars with just the right amount of fuzz captured with a strong and clear production that keeps everything at a maximum power ** Harda Ut "s/t" LP European Import. HÄRDA UT is a fourpiece band from Gothenburg, Sweden who formed in late 2015. HÄRDA UT play a scathing and vicious style of female fronted noise damaged hardcore/punk. Musically, HÄRDA UT can be loosely compared to bands such as Wart Hog, Pregnancy Scares, Crazy Spirit, and other-like minded bands. ** City of Caterpillar "Driving Spain Up A Wall" LP European import. ...never properly recorded during the band’s initial existence and only a few live recordings of the song from 2002 – 2003 have existed up until now. “Driving Spain Up A Wall” has been a long awaited missing piece of the band’s discography, but was recently recorded in their hometown of Richmond, VA and was mixed and mastered by Jack Shirley at The Atomic Garden Studio. The B-Side of the 12” also includes the track “As The Curtains Dim (little white lie)”, which was originally recorded during the same sessions as City Of Caterpillar’s self titled LP in 2002, but has never been released on vinyl. Both songs on this 12” brilliantly capture the restrained and explosive intensity that City Of Caterpillar helped to define as a sound in the early 00’s, merging the styles of post-rock and shoegaze with punk and hardcore. **Smudjas, The "What We Have is Today" LP "The Smudjas are a punk band from the Italian city of Milan, and their sound is a giddy, melodic rush of hooks and feelings" - Stereogum
