Just curious, is this alternative takes from Melancholy? Or is it that album + alternate takes?

I know other people have answered this one but I wanted to chime in.  When they recorded MCIS, they recorded 52 songs that would possibly make up the record.  The Aeroplane Flies High were all of the songs that didn't make the album for one reason or another.  They all ended up being released on the UK versions of the album singles (BWBW, Tonight, 1979, Zero, and Thirty-Three).  The Bullet single only had one true b-side and the other 4 songs were covers.  The Zero single had one ~27 minute compilation song that contained roughly 78 songs in snippet form that were written during the MCIS rehearsal/writing process that weren't developed into full songs (the final 52).

If you haven't heard TAFH, listen to it pronto.  It's as incredible as MCIS.

*shrugs*

I messaged the band about it once. They read it, but ignored it.

ha yeah I’ve also messaged them a couple of times, but no reply. I know I remember reading a post from them saying it was in the works. It was at least three of four years ago by now though.

And if you dig Pastichio Medley, check out the deluxe APFH. The snippets are from the Gravity Demos which are on one of the discs. Some of those full tracks are rad and I wish they finished them.
