radiatorhums
I'm still working out the details, but I think I'm going to be in Chicago for ~4-5 nights in late June. Looking for suggestions on areas to stay in mostly. But I'd gladly take recommendations for record stores, vegan food, breweries / beer bars, general cool shit to do. Thanks in advance! One Hundred Fifty-Two
I live near wicker park so my suggestions are mainly related to that area. Places to stay: https://www.therobey.com/ - new hotel right in the heart of wicker park Air bnb - there are a two places just on my block that rent out their condo. Or you can get a hotel in the loop. Both wicker park and loop are accessible by the blue line and it’s only $5 from the airport. Record stores: (best to worst but all close to each other so no harm in checking them all out) reckless records dusty groove joyride records (formerly permanent records) shuga records purple llama wild prairie Outside entertainment: millenium park / jay pritzker pavilion - events almost every day in the summer. Very cool Thursday night music series. Get there early since there events are free and usually crowded. Bonus is you can bring your own food and drinks (be civil with alcohol since it’s not technically allowed but I always have wine in solo cups. Edit: booze is banned from certain events only. All the ones in the link are fine. )https://m.chicagoreader.com/Bleader/archives/2018/04/03/the-millennium-park-summer-music-series-announces-its-2018-lineup street fests: typically free to $10. Every neighborhood has a couple. Check out “do division street fest” “taste of Randolph street fest” or “west fest Chicago” as examples https://www.timeout.com/chicago/events-calendar/june-events-calendar#tab_panel_3 the606 - walking path on old train tracks https://www.the606.org/ inside entertainment: escape room axe throwing https://www.thunderboltchi.com/ highly recommend shuffle board https://www.royalpalmschicago.com/ ping pong http://acebounce.com/ bar arcade http://www.emporiumchicago.com/ Whirlyball https://www.whirlyball.com/ small music venues quenchers township tonic room empty bottle schubas late night blues jazz green mill kingston mines little bigger beat kitchen subterranean Coffee dark matter coffee ipsento coffee sports cubs game - go during the week for cheaper tickets late late night nicks beer garden bourbon on division Edited April 4, 2018 by Tidal Wave radiatorhums

I'll parse through your suggestions when I get some more time this evening. On a skim, that looks like a lot of things that would interst me. 26 minutes ago, Secular Haze said: Get a selfie with Sister Jean.
