I still have no idea what AM sounds like lol I'll come back with my stupid opinion later if anyone cares.

I care! Please do.

To me SIAS is shimmery, playful and sometimes insecure.
And AM is more like R&B/hip-hop beat-inspired self-serious cocky try-hard bravado.

Take off I Want it All and replace it with either So Dark or Stop the World and the album gains a point or two in my eyes. Also, Snap Out of It is fine enough on the album but I'm not a fan of it live.

Stop The World absolutely should have been on the album. But I would replace Mad Sounds - just not a fan of that tune at all.

I got a shipping notification on my silver about 2 days ago. Should be delivered today according to my usps tracking.

Well that's not good (for me).

Edit: Spoke too soon.  I got it at 1:03 this afternoon.  It just ended up under my "Promotions" tab on Gmail.

Listened to this about 3 times now, sounds like a bunch of rich white 30 year olds who are out of ideas. I love the notion of music of this genre being really popular nowadays but the songs themselves here are just really boring and not saying much. Would have loved this to be a great record, the overall style and instrumentation could have been made into an awesome record i think.

'The dream synopsis' from the last shadow puppets records was already so boring to me and that song would be the highlight on this one if it was on here, that's saying a lot.

Man, I just don't think he is a great songwriter at the piano. Lyrics aside, which are admittedly weak relative to previous output, there is an overall lack of rhythm or melody in his delivery. I'm not a musician so perhaps I articulated that poorly.

It's a shame because sonically, this is the most interesting and personally appealing stuff I've heard from them. It's marred by a sort of prevailing incongruity. I'm not as harsh on it as you guys because I don't honestly think their first two albums are that great.

If anyone is in the NYC or LA area and is willing to grab me a Gold variant of the new album at the pop-up shop, let me know and I'll PayPal you! Thanks in advance!

There is no LA pop up but I’m definitely seconding this if anyone can help out! Would also love a hardback book & scarf!

I just started listening to this and the first fucking lyrics being "I just wanted to be one of The Strokes" almost made me turn this off immediately.

Come on, man. This is Turner's tongue-in-cheek humour at its finest. To open an album as weird as this with that lyric is just getting ahead of every preconceived criticism with a smirk.
