jochert
Does anyone have any good tips for removing stickers off of record covers without damaging them? You know: price tags, "nice price", " also available on cassette", " contains the songs:" those kind of stickers. Some of the (newer)smaller price tags you can just (carefully)peel off, I mean the older price tags and big stickers. I buy a lot of records in thrift shops and such. thanks.... thomas
hairdryer? Yes, heat it up for a min or two and it'll melt the glue so you can peel the sticker right off.
impact
you can also wd-40 or lighter fuel which works amazing, and doesnt leave residue that hairdryers tend to do, though this method is a bit more difficult, and if you use tooo much, it will fuck up the cover. thesack18
i wouldnt be game enough to use wd40 or lighter fuel. id use a hairdryer, then wipe a lil citrus spray and clean it off

hickey
The "nice price" or "contains the songs" stickers were originally on there, so I'd keep them. I'd get rid of the price tags though.

faith
i usually leave them on... better having a price sticker on the cover than a darker spot where it used to be or a sticky spot i wouldn't dare trying goo gone or lighter fuel on any covers, even the glossy ones

mystic84
i hate stores that put prices right on the covers. right. anyway, how would you remove some little remains of glue from a record cover? citrus spray or wd-40 or something like that? kyle
i hate stores that put prices right on the covers. Unfortunately the alternative is putting the price on the plastic sleeve, but then people could just swap the plastic sleeve of a more valuable record with the sleeve of a cheap record. So if they put it on the plastic outer sleeve they need to seal it somehow, which means you can't check the color of the vinyl (or even the condition). So basically, as collectors, we're stuck between a rock and a hard place.
xfedaykinx
yeah, i hate when record stores wont let you check the color. however, i prefer to have a sealed record with the tag on the plastic than an open one with the tag on the sleeve. when it comes to used records i could generally care less.
