suburbanargyle
Thanks for all the Ergs love guys! MRC - I've got all the Doppelganger 7"s but I was pretty disappointed overall, they just don't stand out to me. I may have to revisit them at some point. vittywatt
Now I think the blink pic is funny and all but can it be removed from this thread PLEASE! I ask because this thread is now NSFW and it's one that I enjoy a lot. Seeing random complete collections of shit i'll never own. Maybe make this image it's OWN thread so people can have fun with it there..just leave it out of this public thread please.

servo
i hope my pubes get you all fired ive seriously never understood the whole NSFW fear. maybe its cuz i dont have a job but like i imagine your manage walking by and seeing you browsing vc, looking at a whole bunch of pictures of records, just kinda saying something like "hey cool records. but maybe you should do some work around here" but another time he walks by and its clearly a message board and he looks and its like "sweet blink 182 calanders. wait, are those some pubes and the very base of a penis? YOURE FIRED!!!" slacking off is slacking off whether your slacking off to my pubes or not. stop reading this and get back to work.
hickey
slacking off is slacking off whether your slacking off to my pubes or not. stop reading this and get back to work. Every time a debate around NSFW content starts this argument gets brought up and it's incredibly stupid and usually brought up by someone who never had a "real job." Sorry if that sounds snobbish, but it's true. I'm in front of a computer all day. I am allowed to browse the Web for personal stuff for a reasonable amount of time as long as it doesn't take away from my productivity (which it does not). Yes, it's a luxury to be able to take a break and "slack off" for a little bit. Pretty much every company I've worked for has had an "acceptable use policy." It essentially means, "You're using our computer and network and we know you're going to look at personal shit on the Internet, please don't look at porn or anything obscene, because if the wrong person sees it it could get you and us in a lot of trouble. We're being nice in letting you buy records and talk to trolls online for a little while each day, do us the courtesy of not looking at some asshat's pubes. Thanks. The Management." lokithelion
Why would no one care about them? Be my Doppelganger are absolutely awesome. They are indeed Amazing. however this is VC where thrice, brand new, and circa survive are considered the best bands ever. Grow up. I like Brand New and I like thrice and I like Be My Doppelganger. I didn't commend the collection because of the stupid "here's my art Mom and Dad, you wouldn't understand me cause I'm different!" nature of your commentary. There are ten or or fifteen big brand new and thrice fans on the board right now. There are about thirty groups of assorted pop punk, indie, hardcore, metal, doom, whatever fans here as well. You had a great chance to tell people about an awesome band, and instead of pimping them and saying why they're awesome you pout like a unappreciated 8th grader who wont share his smith's cd's cause "you're just a jock who wouldn't like it anyway." mrc
Please excuse me, i will send my apologies to the band for not "pimping" them out to fellow VCers. I know there is a handful of people that enjoy them, but 98% of people on this board could care less about checking them out so i will save my pimping for other places. Sorry to disappoint you holy one.

If you think people are listening to something you don't like why not tell them about the alternative? The tastes here are pretty broad. If you think 98% of the people here wouldn't like them you're a idiot.

mrc
updated satanic surfers collection Fucking awesome! where did you find that new comp? i havent heard of it. let me know if you have any details, or where i can find it. Here is my updated Connie Dungs collection. This band is one of my favorites, and if you are unfamiliar the Connie Dungs are a snotty pop punk band from Kentucky. They were active from 1994 to around 99 or 2000 and put out records on Harmless, Mutant Pop and Cool Guy records. Their Miss and Johnny 7" is one of my favorite 7"s/songs. You can check em out here http://www.myspace.com/theconniedungs [Consider them pimped ] I still need: V/A: The Best of Bumfuck Egypt Music Compilation 7" (Molasses Grave Records) I hate this town 7" Original pressing on Opaque orange And would even be interested in these tapes: Songs For Swinging Lovers Nice Guys Finish Last I think there are some other things, and if you haven anything i am missing please let me know. First of all, awesome Connie Dungs collection!! and thanks!! I can't find that much info about it either... I found it recently on ebay, but it was going for like $30 and that was a bit to much for me...and i think it is going for that amount because there is this band on this comp called "Nasum" and it is a metal band. But i just search howsyouredge and bought a copy from someone. All i know is that is it released on Really Fast records in 1994 and that these are the songs on it I like: Millencolin - Nosepicker Venerea - Phone me Venerea - Sex is really fun Satanic surfers - Hank And there are also some 59 times the pain songs. apeman
Probably my all time favourite musician - the great Scott Walker. I have no intention of ever getting into variant-frenzy, since the amount of releases is massive when counting compilations, singles, reissues and whatnot. The first four albums - Philips originals and 4 Men with Beards 180g. reissues: Various compilations: Later albums: ...since 1983 he's only released three regular full lengths and a soundtrack, plus a few contributions here and there. Not the fastest work rate - the gap between "Tilt" and "The Drift" was 11 years - but I still hope for at least one more record before he calls it quits. Anyone interested in getting familiar with his work should probably start with "Scott 3" and "Scott 4", or go for the "Scott Walker in Five Easy Pieces" collection, where each cd is thematically structured. And the "30 Century Man" documentary is absolutely amazing!
thestigmachine
My small but complete Cadillac Blindside collection: - Read The Book, Seen The Movie 12" - Rumors, Scandals And Burning Bridges 7" (Took forever to find it!) - Split with Amp176 7" /300 (The 6/66 that's written on the cover is probably just some previous owner being funny....) - Read The Book, Seen The Movie (CD) - The Allegory Of Death And Fame EP (CD) - These Liquid Lungs (CD) (Someone press this on vinyl already!) - These Liquid Lungs: A Retrospective (CD) (The very generous Trenton Raygor gave this to me as a gift when I was invited to his house for a BBQ.
