Guest Admin
We did this once on the Vinyl Collective Blog http://www.vinylcollective.com/2006/11/14/what-releases-should-we-try-to-put-out-on-vinyl/ and I thought it would make for a good thread on the message board so let's do it again. What releases not available on vinyl should be pressed on the beloved format? I will start by saying that I would like to see the following put out on vinyl: The Format "Dog Problems" Alkaline Trio "Goddamnit" Lemonheads "S/t" Drive By Truckers latest one Minus the Bear "remix album" and "They make beer commercials like this" Now is your turn, what would you like to see on vinyl? skumbucket
that alkaline record has been out of print forever, but asian man is doing a 'goddamnit' re-issue by the year's end...maybe they'd be looking for someone to pick up a vinyl version? skumbucket
oh, and releases i would LOVE to see: choke. if you're not familiar they're pretty much the best technical punk band in the history of canada and they're currently doing their farewell tour, as they've recently decided to retire. anyway, on their last cross-canada tour last year i talked with some of the members, who said they would love to see some of their stuff come out on vinyl, but their label apparently wasn't into it. They're on Comeback Kid's Canadian label, Smallman Records. I would kill to get some of their stuff on LP.

steventangent
2 I can think of off the top of my head would be Brand New's The Devil and God... and Neko Case Fox Confessor Brings The Flood. and I guess, as long as I'm dreaming, a domestic release of Coheed & Cambria's albums (I think the LPs were only available as imports, and for completely unreasonable prices!), or some Further Seems Forever, or how about Water & Solutions by Far? and Ghost Buffalo. grox
any of trail of dead's last couple albums (source tags & codes, worlds apart, so divided), although I have seen worlds apart pressed in small quantities before. but I haven't seen the others so far. in fact, I don't even think so divided was ever pressed at all. um, they are on a major label, if that makes any difference... chiefwahoo
My wish list in no particular order, although I've already told Virgil all of these way back when Brand New - The Devil and God... Motion City Soundtrack - Commit This to Memory (maybe you can check on their upcoming release) Face to Face - Live; Ignorance is Bliss; Standards and Practices Goo Goo Dolls - Superstar Car Wash; A Boy Named Goo Crime in Stereo - both full lengths Afghan Whigs - Unbreakable (their upcoming greatest hits/retrospective) I'm not overly interested, but you could probably move a ton of copies of the Plus 44 or Angels and Airwaves records if they were pressed...
