We did this once on the Vinyl Collective Blog http://www.vinylcollective.com/2006/11/14/what-releases-should-we-try-to-put-out-on-vinyl/

and I thought it would make for a good thread on the message board so let's do it again.

What releases not available on vinyl should be pressed on the beloved format?

I will start by saying that I would like to see the following put out on vinyl:

The Format "Dog Problems"

Alkaline Trio "Goddamnit"

Lemonheads "S/t"

Drive By Truckers latest one

Minus the Bear "remix album" and "They make beer commercials like this"

Now is your turn, what would you like to see on vinyl?

oh, and releases i would LOVE to see: choke. if you're not familiar they're pretty much the best technical punk band in the history of canada and they're currently doing their farewell tour, as they've recently decided to retire.

anyway, on their last cross-canada tour last year i talked with some of the members, who said they would love to see some of their stuff come out on vinyl, but their label apparently wasn't into it. They're on Comeback Kid's Canadian label, Smallman Records. I would kill to get some of their stuff on LP.

I would love to get any of these on vinyl. Here it goes.

Bayside - Bayside

Bayside - Sirens and Condolences

Blackpool Lights - This Town's Disaster (Ex Get Up Kids)

Days Away - Anything By Them

Emery - Anything By Them

Fairweather - Lusitania

Finch - Say Hello To Sunshine

Further Seems Forever - How To Start a Fire

Gatsbys American Dream - Anything By Them

Honorary Title - Anything Else But the Truth

Northstar - Anything By Them (This Needs to Be Done Now so I can listen to it)

Say Anything - Is A Real Boy

The Snake The Cross The Crown - Anything By Them

Sound of Animals Fighting - Anything By Them

I know it's a long list but I honestly would buy all these.

Dustin Kensrue - Please Come Home

Sundowner - Four One Five Two

I could name more, but that's all I can think of at the moment.

i concur

Boys Night Out-"Trainwreck"

I would love to see this more than anything else.

forge again records should be putting that out this year along with the rest of the boys night out stuff. they just put out the first ep if you dont have that yet.

my wishlist off the top of my head or itunes. some are so far fetched and impossible and most will never see the light of day on vinyl.

each of the lawrence arms asian man releases

bad astronaut - both lps

big d and the kids table - good luck/how it goes

bigwig - everything

broadway calls - s/t

crime in stereo - explosives and the will to use them

daggermouth - stallone

dredg - everything

face to face - ignorance is bliss

ffirst to leave - change never lasts

further seems forever - how to start a fire

gracer - voices travel

home grown - act your age

i am the avalanche - s/t

lucero - rebels rogues and sworn brothers

midtown - forget what you know/save the world..

muse - black holes and revelations

rx bandits - progress/and the battle begun

thursday - a city by the light divided

That makes my day! I pre-ordered BB&BK but I haven't gotten mine in the mail yet. I'm getting anxious for it to arrive.

2 I can think of off the top of my head would be Brand New's The Devil and God... and Neko Case Fox Confessor Brings The Flood.

and I guess, as long as I'm dreaming, a domestic release of Coheed & Cambria's albums (I think the LPs were only available as imports, and for completely unreasonable prices!), or some Further Seems Forever, or how about Water & Solutions by Far?

and Ghost Buffalo.

My wish list in no particular order, although I've already told Virgil all of these way back when

Brand New - The Devil and God...

Motion City Soundtrack - Commit This to Memory (maybe you can check on their upcoming release)

Face to Face - Live; Ignorance is Bliss; Standards and Practices

Goo Goo Dolls - Superstar Car Wash; A Boy Named Goo

Crime in Stereo - both full lengths

Afghan Whigs - Unbreakable (their upcoming greatest hits/retrospective)

I'm not overly interested, but you could probably move a ton of copies of the Plus 44 or Angels and Airwaves records if they were pressed...

I would love to see Beer Commercials by Minus the Bear on vinyl as well.

But most of all- I want to see Alkaline Trio's S/T and Remains...
