selfreliable
Ryan sure does treat his fans nice when he fucks up on something. So many free tracks he gives out and autographs and bonus stuff.

Pax-Am is really good with customer service. I think he oversold 20-30 copies of Orion and gave everyone the following: Free copy of Orion 2nd pressing Free Orion digital download Free Oblivion 7 inch Apology Letter Autographed Orion poster
birdwell
the Original Press of "Gold"...180g 2xLP or just regular weight vinyl?
cadetapplesauce
the Original Press of "Gold"...180g 2xLP or just regular weight vinyl? Pretty sure it's regular weight. The only 180 gram pressing I know of is the Back To Black edition, which I believe is only available in Europe??? Someone correct me on this if I'm wrong... http://www.amazon.de/Back-Black-Serie-in....2 631384&sr=8-2 also see.. http://www.shakedownrecords.com/product_info.php?cPath=225&products_id=2649

thousandjulys
got mine as well. anybody know the deal with the pressing info? all the sites seem to have taken down the info referring to the fact that it was /1000
psychoriley
.....more like 10,000, everyone still has them, NO WAY is it 1,
cadetapplesauce
I thought it was just a standard repress on clear. I had no idea it was a part of any anniversary series. I like the original labels better than these new ones.
dreamover
The sticker on the cover says limited to 1,
psychoriley
Well, maybe it is? I just didn't think it would still be easily available, and at a few different distributors with only 1,000.
cadetapplesauce
It doesn't say 1,000 on the sticker that was on mine. PS. Cold Roses on clear? Awesome.
genuma
Listening to this now, sounds fantastic! Also stoked on O Brother, Where Art Thou soundtrack and American VI.
sharkticon
This is at 33RPM right? I imagine is HAS to be with the bonus tracks.
llamason56
it's the same bonus tracks that were on the last press and it seems like this one is thinner than the black pressing and seems to be heavier i think my local shop put this out a little soon because i got this last Saturday
cadetapplesauce
yeah, the vinyl feels a bit thin
somethingvinyl
the Original Press of "Gold"...180g 2xLP or just regular weight vinyl? I was about to ask the same thing. I ran across a copy at my favorite record store and I thought bout buying because I assumed it was OOP and kinda rare (only $20). But when I picked it up, the 2xLP felt heavier than normal so I assumed it was 180gram. It seems like major labels put out regular or colored vinyl first then do 180gram thereafter (that's what seems to happen with Flaming Lips and Wilco). Anyway, I looked up the UPC on my phone and it came up on Amazaon as something they had in stock for less than $20. I thought the 180gram was still in print so when I saw this I was confused. But they did a anniversary edition and it's on colored vinyl so who knows.
llamason56
i can't honestly say for sure if it is a 180g record, but if i had to guess i would say that it wasn't. it just doesn't look/feel thick/heavy enough. but the clear definitely is not 180g. seems just a regular LP
jimmyg
Someone selling it on ebay says the following- "US 21-track 2-LP set pressed on 140gram Vinyl, Adams' 2nd longplayer originally released in 2001, featuring 4 bonus recordings not included on the CD version: 'The Fools We Are As Men', 'Sweet Black Magic', 'The Bar Is A Beautiful Place' and 'Cannonball Days'"
sharkticon
Got mine today. It's some pretty flimsy vinyl. I'd be surprised if it was 140 gram. Ultra clear though. Haven't spun it yet. Maybe tomorrow.

brammyg
Picked this up from Urban Outfitters today for $9.99. Might be worth a trip. The price should ringup from the bar code as mine had no indication of the price besides being in the clearance section.
thebambino
Just my 2 cents but jesus does this LH clear vinyl sound like dogshit. My original Gold press sounds way better. The clear Pneumonia also sounds bad, I'd rather listen to the CD to be honest. Not to mention Pneumonia was never even mixed/mastered for the vinyl format. itmustbereal
The clear Pneumonia does indeed sound like shit. I wanted to throw it in the garbage.
