aviolentworld
so i have a verizon droid eris and earlier today i couldn't hear anything on my end except when i had the speaker on. i noticed a headphone icon on the top of my phone. not sure how it got there and after doing a little research i think i am fucked. is there anything i can do to get this straightened out. i tried and i had people at work try and nothing. now my speaker phone won't even work so if any of you guys have insider tips that would be awesome. papermonsters
My friend had an Eris and it did the same thing, I think he smashed it and got a new one from insurance.
suchashorttime
try sticking headphones into the headphone jack. somehow, it thinks there are headphones plugged in, which is why the speaker won't work. maybe you can trick it? or maybe get a can of compressed air and see if you can clean the jack out? deville
Here are the steps to troubleshoot it 1. Pop the battery for like 30 seconds 2. Dial *228 option #2 3. do a factory reset on the phone, make sure you know your Gmail user name and password 4. You are most likey out of warranty so either do an insurace Claim for a $100 deduct or if you are the primary line do an Early upgrade. Or add another line to your account or find a verizon Phone to put on the line

purplesaurusrex
I had the same thing happen with my mac book. I just took a pair of headphones and put the headphones in and out several times quickly and it fixed it. not sure if this will help but hopefully! papermonsters
You'll probably lose your pictures. Just download the photobucket application and upload them all from your phone. It's easy to use and pretty quick.
