orangesix
I remember seeing the first 2 records for around $12 back when they came out and no one wanted vinyl. I ended up buying the cassette versions.
toppersteele
I just threw a couple of Pony Express 7's up on EBay. Jeff Cloud / Jason Martin side project. Mid-90's releases. OOP. Rad pieces.
somethingvinyl
I saw those PE 7" but they'll go for more than I want to pay. I want to find those for $5 at a local store.
ChardeeMacDennis
I'm sure most of you guys know, but there are a few records at Burnt Toast for sale (some mispresses, represses, few of the box sets on black etc) http://btv.foxhole.info/zencart/index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result&search_in_description=1&keyword=starflyer
toppersteele
I'm happy that I kept all my favorite Starflyer releases. Specifically Gold, and Fashion Focus. Still have the Goodbyes are Sad marble blue 7" and the Plugged cd as well. Keeping 'em forever!

futre
Have 'em all, would buy 'em again. And again. Used to be best band ever with Pedro The Lion.
Just Us
Any plans to repress the first three albums in the future? I really fell in love with them the last couple of days. This has to happen.
orangesix
Let me know if you ever decide to sell that goodwill copy of Gold. I am really hoping they repress at least the first 3 albums.
AlexH.
Sadly, I think the Starflyer albums are doomed to the same fate as the most of the Tooth & Nail back catalog. They've got a reasonably sized cult following, but nothing nearing the size needed to motivate one of these repress labels to jump through the hoops necessary to deal with Universal's licensing department. A lot of old Tooth & Nail bands are finding this out the hard way. Ronnie Martin is in the process of reissuing the first Joy Electric album, and it's $32 to compensate for the financial burden of licensing the music he wrote and recorded himself. mewithoutYou had to cancel their repress of Catch For Us the Foxes because the per-unit cost was going to be like $8/unit or something for licensing alone. The lesson here is that money ruins art. Someone needs to catch the ear of an SRC/ETR style angel investor label that's willing to sink money into albums that are good even if you didn't hear them in middle school, and bug them to put out the Starflyer albums. dreamover
burnt toast had been working on a gold reissue. i'm not sure if they paid for licensing before or after the capitol sale. either way, it seems like it's been so long that it may not be happening. silver was reissued a few years ago and was super easy to find for about three years. somethingvinyl
It's nice every once and a while when a great overlooked band gets discussion here.Notice a coincidence with the posters in these common threads? I do!Still need Leave Here A Stranger and The Drop if anyone is giving 'em up.
scott_c
I just bought Everybody Makes Mistakes from a Discogs seller earlier this week. It didn't have the 7" with it, but I got it for a pretty good price. I still need The Fashion Focus and The Drop, as well.
dreamover
if you guys are fans of old starflyer, you should really think about picking up the new native lights record. i've heard it and it sounds very reminiscent of early starflyer. the band features jonathan ford from unwed sailor and bryce chambers from ester drang. they're only pressing 300 copies on vinyl. http://www.nativelightsband.com(kinda NSFW)

Seafinch
I’m with you! There have been a handful of times I almost but the bullet and paid discogs pricing. I kind of feel like i just stole it.
