shenanigans
So I know they are supposed to start deteriorating after 10-20 years. Is there any way to make them last longer? I know heat is bad. I'm thinking about vacuum sealing, Any other ideas?

shenanigans
I plan on it. Not really keeping it for the music though. It's part of a collection.
ajxd
Then who cares? The plastic casing of a cassette won't break down, just the actual media will.
Werner Herzog
Making extra copies (to listen to) is a good idea, also make sure you clean your cassette player regularly to avoid dust and shit getting on your actual tape (if you decide to play your original copies). I picked up a copy of My War on cassette a couple months ago for $1, it sounds brand new.
