Strung Out, LA’s finest in speedy melodic punk mayhem, is one of the hardest working bands of the last 20 years. With a career which has so far produced 7 studio albums, numerous EP’s, a live album and a mind-boggling number of shows, they continue to be a significant staple on the indie punk scene. In celebration of their longevity and with the positive feedback from fans for both 2012’s Twisted in a Suburban Wasteland tour and the remixed songs on Top ContendersStrung Out decided to finish the job and have Ryan Greene remix all three of their classic 90’s albums in their entirety. This summer will see the release of deluxe reissues of Another Day In Paradise, Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues and Twisted By Design! Three special records that certainly deserve some special treatment, and that’s what will be on offer with these reissues and the all-encompassingVolume One box set, which will include the 3 albums plus a DVD that drummer Jordan Burns details below:

We are all pretty stoked on this box set. All 3 albums are sounding so fresh and revived. If we didn’t think you would all love it like we do, we wouldn’t be putting it out. Also the live
DVD
from our Twisted In A Suburban Wasteland tour last year is going to be sweet. Filmed in Montreal Canada, it will include both
STWB
 and
TBD
 live. I know, our first
DVD
 ever and its looking great!

What did you think of Top Contenders? I'd be willing to bet it would be close to that.

I cant wait to hear Exile remixed in the future. If any album needs it, it's that one.

Couldn't agree more with Exile needing some work. The tracks from Agents confused me, though. What was wrong with Cameron's mixes? I love his work.

I liked the OG mixes and master compared to those on Top Contenders. Might try to track the OG pressings down too

same.  I hated the Top Contenders mix.  I better track down the OG pressings soon.

I thought Joey did an awesome job with the Lagwagon remasters, but this is completely different.

I have the og pressings and I think on vinyl twisted sounds amazing for some reason maybe it's because of the better stereo system my turntable is hooked up to. I'm really looking forward to hearing some of the stwb songs like gearbox remixed and remastered. Anyone think the production on another day in paradise is pretty good? I won a really sweet looking fat classic orange repress of that record from a couple years ago on eBay last summer for $25. I I initially missed the boat on it

Strung Out’s last album, 2009’s Agents of the Underground, was their 7th full length and celebrated the band’s 20th anniversary. A true testament to their relevance and longevity is their ability to organically evolve through the years. Strung Out began their career as a strictly melodic punk band known for their tight musicianship and catchy melodies but evolved into a more aggressive, metal-infused veteran punk band. That is what all of us were most interested in capturing: the true musical journey of one of the founding bands on Fat Wreck Chords. This box set, Volume One, showcases the first three albums: Another Day in Paradise, Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues, and Twisted By Design, all fully remixed by Ryan Greene, helping to display the true power of these songs along with nuances previously unheard. We’ve re-scanned all the artwork from the original pieces and included deluxe foldout inserts with never before seen photos and extensive liner notes from the band. The real gem in this set, in the works for a decade (!!!), is the first-ever Strung Out DVD! You get a full 2012 concert where they performed the Suburban and Twisted albums in their entirety, all professionally filmed and recorded, and that’s just the start. There’s a TON of footage from the ‘90s: shows, tour antics, interviews, behind the scenes stuff; a veritable treasure trove of classic Strung Out. For you vinyl hounds, the LP box set includes The Skinny Years… Before We Got Fat, remastered and on vinyl for the first time ever! (It’s also included in the CD box set, as bonus tracks on the Paradise disc). Finally, we think the box set does a nice job of encapsulating the distinct personality of Jim Cherry’s contribution to Strung Out. Jim is another member of the Fat family who passed way too soon, and as Strung Out vocalist Jason Cruz states in his liner notes to the fans, “This box set is as much for Jim as it is for you.” We hope it serves his legacy and your expectations.
