Best place to buy Pro-Ject Carbon?

They are pretty much the same sound-wise, but the OM-10 has a higher compliance, so it's a good choice if you have a very low mass tonearm. The 2M carts are much easier to mount and set up though.

I recently got that music hall cork mat for my Carbon.  Huge difference in sound quality, all the static hiss caused by the included felt mat was gone.  I think the $50 cork mat does everything the $120 acri platter does, so I would just recommend the cork mat instead, everything sounds better now.

I bought the acri plat for performance and for looks. On my piano black plinth it just pops and makes the table look sweet. I used a cork mat on my last turntable and didn't notice any difference in static or sound, plus it looked like a giant wine cork was on my table. It's definitely the cheaper way to go though if you're hearing a noticeable improvement.

Yeah I did a leather mat cause I didn't want to drop $120 on the platter, and wanted to keep it black like the table. Huge sonic improvement over the felt mat as well, mainly with regards to less static

Got my Carbon today.  It sounds fantastic.  The felt mat is pretty offensive--upgrading to the Acrylic platter.

 

all in all, I am pretty excited.
