jhook
USV were great. Did they ever tour? Spazm 151 is another band that killed it. I know there is a video from a Gordon Solie show thats insane. All you see and hear is fireworks and people yelling. What about Gloom records too. They went on a run where everything they put out was awesome. jhook
I was lucky because in the late 90's going into the early 2000's the scene blew up. Shows all the time, great bands,my friends were playing in bands, tons of venues, I was still in High School or out of school living at home so I could just take off for a fest or show,no real responsibilities....then I sold out and got old. LIFE SUCKS. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
maneatingcow
United Super Villians played all over Wisconsin. Don't know how much they toured outside of the midwest. They also were at one of the Thrashfests too I know. Can't remember that but I have the Felix Havok Fest Edition of one of the records. jhook
I saw DS-13,Dropdead,There were wires and someone else in Rhode Island on 9/11. That had to be one of the weirdest shows I have ever gone too. The highways were empty. My friend and I almost did'nt go because we thought it would be cancelled. I bought the USV LP of off Felix that day and thought it was great. I don't think they ever made it out my way on tour tho.
maneatingcow
Ha, I was just coming back here to mention Demon System 13. The early 2000s there were so many great bands on Havok Records Label. https://www.havocrecords.com/havoc-12 As a heads up Nine Shocks Terror - Zen and the Art of Beating Your Ass is 8 bucks... you should buy it if you don't have. There is a ton of great stuff for cheap available on there. Another awesome band - Degenerics http://youtu.be/2um9c_wwDz0

controlthebleeding
i love GORDON SOLIE MOTHERFUCKERS here is the video from Chaos in 2007. there were no safe areas to stand, beer and trash can's were being thrown in every direction. between them and Annihilation Time, it was a good year. can't wait to see DROPDEAD in a few months. though ive seen them at least 5 times through out the last 16 years. only got to see SPAZZ once at a house show. was lucky enough to see HIS HERO IS GONE live too. sooo good. tht's just the 90's. there's tons of 80's punk/hardcore bands i saw as well (cryptic slaughter/crumsuckers/cro-mags/etc etc)

Guest
Some faves from Chaos in Tejas 2012: Bi-marks Dawn of Humans Culo Though these could be considered more "raw punk" or something.
maneatingcow
http://www.ebullition.com/listwhole.html Another great mailorder site. Back in the day I'd order from them once a year or so. It a wholesale, not a normal store so there is a $100 minimum order but everything is cheap a fuck. Get a couple buddies together and order. jhook
pretty damn good mail day if i do say so myself. Awesome. There is another press of Zen that has a different mix. Its kind of a bitch to find when Havoc reissued it they remastered it. How much did these cost? I had had them laying around since they came out and am curious if there is any demand for them. jhook
Is the same band that claims to be the dumbest band in hardcore? I swear I read that somewhere. Ha, I think something was written to that extent. The write up on the site when the record came out was not written giving a glowing review of the band. Haha. It seems that Paying Ohmage is the toughest one to get for a decent price.
jhook
I really want a copy of the first press of Zen and the art of beating your ass. It came out on a Japanese label and sounds way more fuzzy and loud then the Havoc press. I have only seen a copy of it once and didn't buy like an idiot. I am going to see MFP, Prisoner Abuse, The Inmates and Rampage tonight in Cambridge. Should be a good time.
