himynameisShane
Yes, a silver Sharpie According to this site "In 2004, Sharpies were introduced in metallic silver, gold, and copper for writing on dark surfaces." So silver sharpies didn't exist when these were "signed" right?

allenh
I was bored so I started looking back at the bidding history and feedback on some of these and as far as the loosing bids go unless the seller has a huge amount of fake accounts it's amazing how many greedy stupid people there are out there. I really really want to be a fly on the wall when some of these people try and sell these on to anywhere with half a brain cell

NapalmBrain
This reminds me when one of those big wig auctions like sotheby's sold a signed copy of Jimi Hendrix "Cry Of Love" and had to take it down once it clicked

Someone win one with a low bid, test the ink to see if it matches a silver sharpie exactly, and return it as being fake. DETECTIVE COLLECTIVE. I'd watch that in a heartbeat... Once my wife and I were at a hotel and watched a show called Treasure Detectives where collectibles/antiques were put through comprehensive forensic tests to see if they were authentic. Dude thought he had an Honus Wagner baseball card. it was a fake. He had been carrying it around in a random grocery bag with him for years because he was so afraid of leaving it alone. Now that was compelling television...

I'm sure (in theory) someone could get a handwriting specialist to look at those signatures and say they aren't legit

Hairy Potter
I've seen someone sell a photograph of Nike Jordans on ebay. The description even said "This is a picture of a pair of Jordans." The listing image was a picture of a picture. People bid blindly without reading or researching all the time.

Mourning Wood
There are threads all over the internet now about dudes listing records on Discogs for insane prices. No one is sure why they are doing it. Do they really have these records? Why would anyone buy these records at these prices? We may never know what the motivation is. It's like the Easter Island of vinyl.
