crapforgenius
I hope it doesn't get pushed back again... this time is like the 3rd time since it was announced?Yeah, this is the third delay. I think perhaps they bit off more than they could chew in the allotted time with the complexity of the box. Given how gorgeous the CD set is, though, I'm confident it will be worth it. I do also wonder, though, if perhaps they aren't getting the pre-release sales on this one they were hoping for and they're pushing it back hoping for more people to bite. I just hope it doesn't get canceled due to cost of production vs revenue from sales. (See also: the canceled This Mortal Coil Blu-ray set.) mpitts
Positive News Update! Hi Everyone, I've been informed the boxsets are finally en route to our offices and we should have stock to start shipping next week. If you have changed your address since you placed the order could you please just write me back with the new shipping address. If you've already messaged me it should be updated, but please write me back again just to make sure. If your address is the same as when you placed the order there is no need to respond. Sorry again for the delays. Woo!
tonyfranciosa
Just got that too. I'm stoked... this was one of my more anticipated 2013 releases.
tonyfranciosa
happened to log in to my 4AD account tonight just to check on this and it looks like I'm shipped. No idea when it went out or when to expect it, but I cannot wait to get my grubby hands on this.

bungie
Fantastic! Did you guys all order from 4AD? Trying to find some US vendors with a decent price. Just a quick look around, it seems to be about $125 on average, but not seeing it in the US yet for another 10 days or so.
tonyfranciosa
yes, 4AD direct. They seem to have them in stock according to the web site, and it's only $90 there. I played the remastered LP through tonight and it sounds simply brilliant. I know it's cliche, but I'm hearing things I never heard before. Literal goosebumps during Do You Love Me Now? Pressing is dead quiet and super flat and clean. Can't wait to spin the other records over the week.

Maybe I've missed the detail somewhere, but I'm curious...are these on 180g vinyl or...?

Do You Love Me Now? has always been my favorite track on the album and it's just.. Perfect. The box set is incredible and worth every penny. ExtraFox
Rather than start a new thread, this is being reissued on red in February. Found it on the CCMusic website ($20.73. Don't forget to try the 25% off code that may not work for pre-orders - JAN1650). At work so can't post links. May try and edit them in later. NapalmBrain
Do you know what label is doing it? If it's 4ad I'm in and if it's plain I'm not bothering
turk99
Do you know what label is doing it? If it's 4ad I'm in and if it's plain I'm not bothering It is Plain. Do they do bad pressings?
NapalmBrain
It is Plain. Do they do bad pressings? yep. and its sourced from the cd like almost all their releases. I've heard it, it's not good. Was hoping they were finally doing an "official" single disc
slipcraig
It is Plain. Do they do bad pressings? Stay far away from Plain.
ExtraFox
Stay far away from Plain. General discussion I have seen on here is that not ALL Plain pressings should be avoided (for example, my Elliott Smith ones are fine), but there is a very good chance this will suck. NapalmBrain
I've heard Fiona Apple. both Breeders, both MBV and 1 Mazzy Star are all sub par and not worth owning. Can't comment on Elliott Smith, but I bet if you A/B with an original you would probably be disappointed with the plain, I know I was when I A/B'd Extraordinary Machine
freedumb
Plain's version of Mr. Bungle "Disco Volante" and also Red House Painters' "Songs For A Blue Guitar" both were very underwhelming pressings.
tonyfranciosa
my Discogs collection says I still have 12 Plain records in my collection. I think the only ones that sound worthwhile are The Twilight Singers and Primus Pork Soda.
