Sold some records on eBay a few weeks back, buyer pays, I shipped, etc. Flash foward to today, they recieve the package EMPTY. Now I swear to god I packaged this thing nicely enough to make it across the country, but I'm freaking out over how the package itself made it but the records didn't. The pics they sent showed the tape had been torn off but I'm trying to figure out if it was stolen or if somehow the mailer just came undone during travelling. boops_popmarket Posted January 4, 2016 Share Posted January 4, 2016 Sometimes, when there is a huge location shift like this, it is just a scanning glitch and not the actual route that the package has taken. I once had a packages go from Bell Gardens, California to Nevada and back to California within 24 hours and a postal employee explained that the package was at Bell Gardens the entire time but was having scanning issues. My buyer told me he got a letter from them two weeks ago saying to hold on to the package while the claim is being reviewed so it appears they're doing something. This reminded me I never got the order I placed from No Idea's winter sale, which apparently was delivered on the 19th. I'm about ready to only use priority mail (read: never order anything anymore). Using priority shipping won't solve the issue of packages left at your doorstep being taken by another party. Only signature required delivery or having a neighbor collect your doorstep deliveries will help to stop that. If you ever want to become paranoid, get a package stolen and then talk to an honest and frank USPS employee about how common it is in your city and what methods the thieves use. I can understand the ipod (assuming it was labeled in a way that made it seem valuable) but I can't imagine why either of my neighbors would care about a package with two shitty powerviolence records in it.
