isavedlatin54
Anyone know if the acryl it platter works on the essential?
NJDevils1214
Still haven't sprung for mine yet. I wish it would drop like 30$ somewhere, but it is way too popular to put on sale. This and a weight were the next things I wanted to pick up, but a friend want's to get into vinyl very cheap. To do that looks like I'd have to spend some money myself. I guess I'll wait a little longer.
taylo234
I got one and I'm pretty happy with it so far. Is it worth $130? No. Does it get rid of static? Yeah, but not completely. Does it "improve" bass frequencies? No. Does it look cool? Yes. The main thing I wanted it for was to get rid of the static issue i've always had on my turntable, and it did get rid of a lot of it. It is super nice not having to use the slipmat. This thing sure looks cool when you put a colored record on it though!

rcafilm
That looks awesome, man. Really can't wait to get one of these.
serum7
I had a horrible static issue with mine. Every single time I would lift an lp the slip mat would be completely stuck to it, every time I touched the player I would get a shock as well. Not to mention hearing pops caused by the static. The acrylic platter has ALMOST eliminated all static related issues. For me it was worth it. Obviously there's no mat to stick, I haven't heard any popping due to the static, and I barely notice any little shocks anymore.

trevorxramage
Yamaha AS500 and Wharfedale Diamond 10.1's. Then it boggles my mind that you can't hear the difference. I've been hearing stuff I didn't even know was there.
fourfourtwo
My girlfriend got me one for Christmas and the first thing I noticed was the bass improvement. I'm playing through Epos Epic 1's. I enjoy the platter a lot. It's nice not having a slipmat. trevorxramage

steviex2shoes
Thanks, still considering getting this. I really wanted to get it on Amazon since I've got over $100 in gift certificates, but I also got a $50 visa gift card I could apply to this. Might just pull the trigger with only have to really pay $64. Might just use the amazon gift cards for a Speed box, who knows.
casinonightzone
really starting to get pissed off at the amount of static around some of my records and my turntable. just lifted a record off and it took the slipmat with it. probably going to be upgrading VERY VERY soon to this... deafening
That ^ I've only had mine for a couple of days. Every single time the mat comes up with the record. Every. Time.
taylo234
The slipmat/static issue on the regular platter is the worst.
tarzioo_
I just got a carbon a few weeks ago and the static is killing me. Anticipating that shock as soon as I flip the record. It's nerve racking ! I was going to go with the cork mat until I heard about this. A little pricey but fuck all this static
slinch
You can also gram an acrylic mat, works the same and costs only around $40.
allenh
You can also gram an acrylic mat, works the same and costs only around $40. Check the size if using an acrylic mat on a Project or Rega as you can't easily adjust the VTA.

dethrock
I love the acrylic platter on my Xpression III. I can't remember ever having static when taking a record off.
