Exactly this, I don't think a lot of the lower range turntables from the likes of Project and Rega that are supposed to be factory set up ever are. I regularly hear the same complaint about Grado's and it is always geometry related, some tables are just poor for tracking geometry but makers like Project and Rega you would expect get this basically right so it just sometimes needs a bit of user intervention.
