Just bought a shirt. Love the logo and price.

My co worker wants to play live with them when that time comes. He's in a band too. http://alightwithin.bandcamp.com

He's got great connections. I've contacted heavy players to see what needs to be done.

I'm going to press my buddies eventually on a 7".

I'll keep this thread posted about what I hear.

Nice.  You really don't see too much love for G?G!.  Incredibly underrated, in my opinion.  They were kind of pivotal in my exploration of math-rock, actually.  I think I prefer their EPs to their full-length.

Also.  Wanted to bump this thread to mention that I've had 100% success with everyone I've suggested Of Sisters to.  Friends who worship the likes of Isis and Russian Circles, friends who've practically given up on post-metal, and everyone in between.  Can we get this to happen already?

got news. the EP wont be pressed any time soon. boo.

the new LP they are releasing will in fact be pressed....probably this year, which is great news.

they are on a label, which it didnt appear to me at first, so ill let them handle it...obviously.

mock up looks great.

Thank you for the updates, good sir.  A bit of a bummer that this EP won't be pressed anytime soon, but what can you do?  I'm assuming it's for financial reasons, yes?  If so... do you still think it'd be within the realm of possible if we got Sly Vinyl involved?  I could absolutely see it selling well.

And I echo the sentiments about looking forward to their full length.  I really hope they manage to get it released this year.  Will definitely be supporting that in any way that I can.

I love them! And they are from the area where I go to school so there a pretty big deal around me. So good.

My long-time homies in Sleep for the Nightlife finally (FINALLY) dropped their album yesterday. Math-rock with a bit of post-rock in there for good measure. Judging by what's been posted in this thread I think you guys are gonna love it: http://sleepforthenightlife.bandcamp.com/

Two bands that have been mentioned that I wanna have mentioned again are El Ten Eleven and Tristeza. El Ten Eleven is loop-based dance-rock sorta stuff with a background in post-rock, and Tristeza is just damn good post-rock that isn't strictly build and swell.

Ran through this thread pretty quickly, did anyone mention The Mercury Program or Tortoise? Because if you don't listen to those bands you might be fucking up.

Tristeza is nice -  but they are hit and miss. and when they miss...its bad.

start with Dream Signals in Full Circles

Hey, Hey everybody, Derek invited me over here re: Sisters Of.. which I hope to check out later this evening!

I don't get over to this forum hardly ever, but this thread would have been where I lived for about 3 years, almost exclusively instrumental music, for reasons too long to get into.

Read through the whole thing once quickly and I need to take some notes while listening - many I am not familiar with - and also a few groups I may be able to add (probably just common oversight, maybe a novel one or two. My brain overflows at the moment)

On Tristeza, I listened to every one of their albums and ended up buying select mp3's of my favorites from different albums, and kinda have a "Tristeza Mix CD" and playlist in Windows Media Player :)

I love, love, love the vinyl medium, but am not a purist.

Hope to be able to chip in as much as I learn from this thread. Thanks for starting it, Evan!
