Mm, got a few steals.

  • The Social Network - only 18 bucks at my local record store
  • SM : SITB - Bought brand new offline for $23 from an Australian record store
  • Less Than Jake: Pezcore and Hello Rockview Picture Discs - Finally came across both
  • All ORG Nirvana reissues - Finally caved :)

That The Social Network was a fucking steal. Congrats!

Built to Spill Caustic Resin - S/T 10"

Devendra Banheart - I Feel Like A Child 7"

and I bought a Camera Obscura 7" on a whim and when I brought it home I discovered that it was the punk band Camera Obscura that I had no idea existed. Oh well. If anyone's a fan I'll give it away for shipping cost.

Oh, and turns out my Ride LP I got the other day is messed up. There's some brown stuff inside the disc that is bumping out on both sides. Hopefully I can get it returned.

Found a coupon for the local store, went down to buy the Colgems copy of The Monkees 'Changes' they've had forever and, of course, it was gone. But I certainly didn't walk away empty handed, though my wallet was $25 lighter:

Neneh Cherry - Buffalo Stance US 12"

Pet Shop Boys - Yesterday, when I was mad UK 12"

Madonna - Material Girl US 12"

Grace Jones - Cry Now, Laugh Later US 12" promo

RuPaul - Supermodel of the World LP

James - One Man Clapping - CD

All $5 each with $5 off with the coupon. The only copy of the James disc currently on Discogs is priced at $85 - and it regularly sells for $100+ - so that was a total steal.

Now it's time for a 90's dance party in my apartment. Come on over.

Which cover of the BtS 10" did you get?

It's the repress with the blue cover. It's in beautiful shape. Looks brand new.

Nice, glad you are able to pick all these up. That is one of my favorite records. I will probably get that cover once I get around to variant collecting, if I ever do.

Thanks. It feels good to be so close to a complete collection, minus a few variants. I just have a few left to get

Ancient Melodies Of The Future 12"

Conventional Wisdom 7"

Center Of The Universe/Forget Remember When 7"

Untrustable/Part 2 7"  (Edit: Just bought a copy that popped up on Ebay!)

In The Morning 7"

Car/Scarin 7"

So and So So And So 7"

Doug Martsch - Now You Know 12"

Helvetia/Built To Spill - "Spooky Action On The Sufferbus" 7" flexi disc

I've never focused so much on completing one collection like I have on Built To Spill. I don't know what I'll do when (if) I finish it. I guess I'll have to focus on another band (or the Halo Benders/Treepeople). It's been a fun journey though.

From Shake It in Cincinnati.

Green Day and Temple of the Dog were used.  Spinal Tap and The Breeders are new.  I finally got fed up with waiting for my Last Splash XX boxset from 4AD to ship and broke down. :D

What color is Temple of the Dog? Is it a real one or a boot? Just curious, I picked up a bootleg blue copy last week.

Needed to kill some time today so went to look at a shop that is newer (I think) in the area. Was just browsing around, came across Brand New - Your Favorite Weapon (10 Year Anniversary Edition) and Panic! at the Disco - A Fever You Cant Sweat Out (Original Pressing). Both of these used for a total of 25 bucks.
