4 MC Chris albums and no Bowie? Seriously?

Yup. Bowie and I...we just never got on.

But MC Chris...he sings about things I can relate to.

I know, for a lot of folks mc chris is a joke act...but when you lived the exclusion, the bullying, the loneliness he raps about while enjoying the nerdier side of life...that stuff really hits home.

Gonna vent here because I don't know where else to.

I've been looking to pick up a vinyl copy of Misfits' Earth A.D. for a long time, but wanted to avoid the misprinted cover that's readily available in stores. There are a lot of (non-misprinted) versions listed on Discogs so I just kept putting it off, kind of overwhelmed I guess.  Finally I saw one come up that I felt was a good price, and it was not a misprint cover. I emailed the seller to verify that it was NOT a misprint and did NOT have the black blocks on the far left statue. The seller confirmed this.

Guess what came in the mail today?! Earth A.D. with a misprint cover! Fucking hell!   If the seller simply didn't know what I was talking about, I'd assume he would have done some quick homework to find out or simply stated that he wasn't sure. I don't see why he's purposely deceive me. But this ignorance is inexcusable. The sleeve condition (VG, maybe VG+) is something I would accept on a non-misprint cover, but with misprint, I could have picked one up new locally for a bit less than what I paid with shipping.

I haven't emailed the seller yet. Just venting. I hate dealing with returns or complaints.

I've had other issues with Discogs purchases, like receiving black records when I specifically ordered a color variant. That's happened twice. Last time the seller said "yeah sorry only black ones left" as if that was an excuse for having it listed as a color variant. I had that fucker shipped from Spain!

The record store in my town is going down from 2 locations to 1 so they're doing 50% off everything  at the closing location this weekend.  It was 30% percent all week so it was sort of picked over, but I managed to find some good stuff. Went from some high price tag soundtracks I've been watching for awhile.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Price - 2xLP
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 - 2xLP
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 - 2xLP
Mikey Erg - Tentative Decisions LP
Garden State LP- Numbered 1693/3000
She & Him - Christmas Party LP
Phoenix w/ Bill Murray 7"
The Monster - Bluray (w/ Slip Cover)
The Curse of Chucky - Bluyray (w/ Slip Cover)
Disney's Monkey Kingdom (w/ Slip Cover)

Came to $127 after tax. Not a bad haul!

Do you not message the seller before payment to confirm the colored variant you're actually paying for?  If you don't, you really should.  I feel like 30% of my wantlist gets put up under the wrong listing or colored variant when it's just black vinyl.

"Oh shit, good catch, I forgot this was on black vinyl!"

"I don't know, I picked it up from my local shop and kept it sealed.  It's probably colored vinyl."

"I just checked and I actually don't even have this record anymore, sorry."

All legitimate responses I've received before forking over a PayPal payment.

Yeah I really should do that, I put too much faith in people knowing what they're doing.

haha sorry man! I was there 10 minutes before they opened on Friday and there was probably 50-75 people in line before me! It was a friggen mad house. Took me about an hour and a half to get through the cash out line! I had my eye on a few things (Scream soundtrack, Pixies record), both which didn't make it until the 50% off sale.
