TastyChevelle
Hey all. I ordered a 5th pressing SHVL 804 Dark Side of the Moon overseas in England and received it about 2 weeks ago, the shipping box bent as if somebody put their foot down on one end and pulled it up on the other. I finally opened it after many emails to the seller and him explaining there is nothing he can do since it happened during the shipping process. Anyways, I opened it, my sleeve badly warped but I played the record anyways. Most of the tracks sound pretty good except for the inner tracks (Great Gig on side A and Brain Damage/Eclipse on the B side) which have some major distortion, partly due to my crappy Pioneer PL-990 (I am getting a Shure M97xE to properly set up on our old Technics SL-B2 which has been sitting dormant without a cartrige) and partly due to a slight "cymbal" like warp to the thing. I haven't had that much IGD on any other record of mine, but I still want to keep this one. Anyways, since I'm keeping this, any ideas on how to flatten this record sleeve so that when I look at it my stomach doesn't churn like it did when I first saw the shipping box? I've set it under large books for a few days, flipping it over under them, opening the gatefold and putting one book under one half of that side and one on top to bend it the opposite way. All of this did absolutely NOTHING. I guess the cardboard material was just more resilient back then. Here's the album I posted on Imgur for /r/vinyl: http://imgur.com/a/lfIkF Keep in mind that I was pretty pissed off when I posted this so there might be some bashing of the seller, but I'm somewhat over it now. eskimosnow27, omik11303 and eight1echo
xxbyaaahxx
Another quality first post. Do a quick forum search on this, or google. Loads of ways to fix this, not being lazy is the first step.
Guest
This is what happens sometimes when you mail records.

kamalatapes
Just the other week I received a package from England. Literally was in a really tight fitted probably 12.90"x12.90" envelope with two of the cardboard thingies generally used to press a record down in a standard LP record mailer. Just curious, what shipping rate/option did they use?
Shitty Rambo
Locking this because I know exactly where it's headed. OP there's not much you can do, put it between your other albums and hope it flattens over time. Leaving this thread open will only cause you pain and heart ache. If someone has a better suggestion then please PM OP, but we all know what kind of responses this thread will draw otherwise.
