jhulud
Listening to the split on Spotify now. So fuckin' good. Altogether as one piece of music, it's cohesive and a great window into Whirr and Nothing have different styles but still overlap each other in some sounds and textures. I can definitely hear some of that Will Yip production sound mostly on the Whirr tracks.

Royce
Both songs off the split are whirr's best songs yet. DAMN.
azvd
Will RFC e-mail you the code?
Youinreverse
Will RFC e-mail you the code? I don't think so. Go to their site and click on "my account" on the top right. There's a section on the left called "my downloads" there should be a link to click in there.
jhulud
Will RFC e-mail you the code? I didn't get any email. I don't think they do anymore. Just log in to your account on RFC's site and on the left there's a link for "My Downloadable Products". If you ordered it, it should be on there and click on it to download. jrodan
The Whirr songs are really great, and im digging the forefront vocals, but this split is all about Nothing "Chloroform". That song is just owning me. I think I have listened to it about 20 times already.

eskimoswim
the whirr songs have definitely grown on me throughout the day. i suppose i wouldn't mind an EP full of songs like this, but i hope they never permanently stray from their slower paced gaze. C_Corday
This split is ridiculously good and both of these bands have killed it in 2014. grizzlyfoz

dvv
if there's ever such a time to say it, favorite split of 2014
Derek™
Listening to the split now. Both Whirr songs are very solid, but it's shocking to hear how dominant and clear the vocals are placed in the mix. Can't wait to hear instrumental versions the next time they tour. [edit] Gotta' reiterate what jrodan said – Chloroform is the takeaway jam here. Can't wait to hear where Nothing go with their next album. azvd
Those Whirr songs are amazing. These guys seriously get better with ever release. Interesting that, contrary to general opinion, the lack of female vocals didn't harm their mojo. It actually made them sound even better. Derek™
Interesting that, contrary to general opinion, the lack of female vocals didn't harm their mojo. It actually made them sound even better. I don't know about that. I actually prefer their Distressor sound more – especially the female vocals. Later Whirr almost sounds like a different band in comparison, but both sounds work for me. I'd just gladly take Loren over Shy Ronnie if given the choice, personally.
azvd
What I meant was, I guess most of us believed that the thing with the band was the contrast between harsh, loud guitars and the sweet, fragile female vocals, which surely played a major role in Distressor. When you guys mentioned that they were performing live with a single vocalist, it sounded like they were going against their main quality and would perhaps lose what could be their best point. But both Sway and now the split shows that they were not either able to surpass the lack of a female vocals but to maybe sound as an even better band, at least to my ears. Both of their latest releases are amongst my top 5 records from 2014.
Derek™
I can respect that. To be fair, studio Whirr is about 1,000 times better than live Whirr, for what that's worth. Vocals out of the equation, I still find the melodies to be stronger on their older work, but I think they've come a long way as far as atmosphere and overall album integrity is concerned. tropicrot
Seems like everyone agreesth at Nothing's half stealing the show, but I'd have to disagree. I love both of their songs, but I definitely think Whirr takes it on this. I am admittedly a bit biased, but I still think Whirr kills it on these two songs. Shinji
Just remembered that I bought a black and colored copy, the long sleeve, and the t-shirt. Bring it on, I won't listen until it's in my hands, ya'll are killing me.
