  4. I got married yesterday! To celebrate, my wife(!) and I assembled a 7-inch compilation of some of our favorite bands covering some of our favorite songs, and we gave it out as a wedding favor to all of our guests. Pressing info is 220 copies on random colored vinyl, the majority of which are in the hands of our wedding guests. (Although I do still have a few leftover...) Artwork is by Marky Hladish of MidwestLove Art & Design.

  5. Updated my for sale list tonight, looking to clear some room for the stupid amount of records I have ordered over the last couple months. Shipping will be $3 for as many records as I can fit in a single mailer (in the USA). If you are outside the US, PM me and we can figure out what the shipping cost will be. If you think any of these prices are out of control...feel free to make me an offer. I think the prices are pretty fair. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ap1f1HZQp3sDdHpLTGdwOFR4WkRINV9XOFhWWGpXa1E

I know there are a few die hards for collecting everything thrice and im sure this is the last gem you would find for sale. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Thrice-First-Impressions-CD-Rare-Identity-Alchemy-Beggars-Anthology-LP-/261107944321?pt=Music_CDs&hash=item3ccb3f0b81 Not mine. wish it was. That is their first cd released. i only think they released 500 of them.

  9. I have the blue/black swirl by AFS and the white by Triple Crown. As stated before, the main differences between the two are as follows: AFS: Shiny, gloss gatefold Inner sleeves are plain black Copy of the cd booklet in larger format TCR: Matte/cardboard gatefold Inner sleeves are cd inner cover Lyric sheet Plastic (if still sealed or on the record) has a white sticker with the album title Now for some of the other information you are looking for: Looking at both of them side by side I'd say I prefer the TCR just for the simple fact of the lyric sheet but as far as clarity/quality of artwork the AFS wins as the artwork is brighter and much clearer and the color choices (in my opinion) are much better. Both records feel and look to be the same weight but don't quote me on that. Other differences: The center labels on the AFS say "The Devil" (A1) "& God" (A2) "Are Raging" (B1) "Inside Me" (B2) along with the tracks that are on each side. The center labels for the TCR pressing simply show a circular timeline with the track length for the songs pressed on that side and an "A" "B" "C" or "D" to tell you which side you're listening too, however it does not tell you the song titles, though I'm sure if you're dropping the money on this you know the general album flow and which song is where. Matrix info: TCR says "8506-TPC 103099-1 (A) S-70526 XC" on side 1 and the only change for each side is that the "(A)" changes to a B, C and D and the serial number changes to S-70527, S-70528, S-70529. AFS says "B001-39460-1-A", "B001-39460-1-B-RE-1", "B001-39460-1-C-RE-1" and "B001-39460-1-D-RE-1". As for sound quality I can't help out as I currently have a crappy Crosley that I'm working on upgrading. Hope that helps and best of luck!

Incorrect. They chose Adele because her album, 21, has sold 24 million copies, continues to chart in the Billboard Top 20-25, even a year and a half later, has earned her 6 Grammy's, and people genuinely enjoy her music.

  13. I don't care how much people sell records for. I just don't understand setting a reserve and starting the auction lower than that. I think auctions should be started at the lowest price you are willing to sell it for (the reserve). STarting it below that is a waste of time. It is frustrating when you bid on something and the reserve is not met.

  15. Yeah I'd be pretty pissed too if a label did their best to meet demand. Now those Ariel Pink lathes are limited to like 150 copies, it really sucks for everyone who bought one. The record got made into a news item by Pitchfork, which I'm sure he had no idea would happen. I'm sure he expected them to last a week at least. Plus a lot of copies got bought by flippers. So yeah, I'd be pissy too if I ran a label and someone "called me out" for making more records after selling out of the entire pressing in a day. I get your implicit point, that he's banking on the limited run aspect of the releases to overcharge for them and sell them fast, but all of PIAPTK's lathe releases are hand cut one at a time, have letterpressed/handpainted/screened covers, and still cost only a few bucks (if anything) more than a mass-produced record. And you can get the MP3s for almost all the limited releases for super cheap. And he's stated numerous times that he loses money per unit on a lot of releases, it's clearly not a money-making operation to be cutting weirdo folk band songs into picnic plates and selling 50 of them for $6. You're not taking a principled stand against supporting anyone's "livelyhood", you're just being a whiner.

What a weird artist choise. Lana Del Rey-s first album was full of James Bond type theme songs, why they didnt choose her? Sorry, but Adele is a like a young Susan Boyle for me, totally unffited to James Bond theme

  19. This is from Amazon. When I got it, it was $33. It's a solid shelf and does what it's meant to do, plus it has a back to it. I recommend it for newer collectors such as myself EDIT Found this on Amazon as well. It's black rather than the finish I have and it's $33 http://www.amazon.com/Foremost-327806-Modular-Divided-Storage/dp/B000O1APF0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1349500495&sr=8-1&keywords=vinyl+record+shelf

    NFL Discussion

No opinion of this team (haven't watched a single game), but Mike, how many games do you think they would win on average per season if they played 1 million seasons? If they are "truly" a 4 - 12 team and just lucked into a 4 - 1 record to start, the odds of this are (1/4)^4 X (3/4)^1 X 5 = 1.4%. The probability a "true" 4 win team starts 5 - 0 on luck is about .1%. So a 1.5% chance that the team has 4 or more wins at this point (assuming the 4 wins number. I had to use something). It's getting to the point where you can't dismiss them as a statistical deviation, but 1 in 100 isn't THAT big of a longshot.
