    Taylor Swift - Red

Last night's setlist in Miami: State of Grace Holy Ground Red You Belong With Me The Lucky One Mean Stay Stay Stay/Ho Hey (The Lumineers cover) 22 Today Was a Fairytale Everything Has Changed (with Ed Sheeran) Begin Again Sparks Fly I Knew You Were Trouble All Too Well Love Story Treacherous We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together I will say that this was one of the most over-the-top fun concerts I've been to in a long time. It was a true show. Very theatrical and involved and much more than just Taylor singing and playing guitar. It sounded great overall. The merch was decent but overpriced as expected. Shirts were about $25. Signed CDs were $30. No LPs that I saw. A bunch of other stuff like posters, jerseys, letterman jacket, calendar, etc. I went by myself, which at first I was kinda freaked out about for this show. I've gone to plenty of shows solo and no big deal but this was a different story. But once in line and inside the venue it was all good. Once the show started I gave zero fucks and just went bananas. I had a great time. It was a lot of fun. There were plenty of girls there with their boyfriends/husbands and you could tell those dudes were dragged there because they stood there motionless with blank expressions and clearly bored not wanting to be there. I found that shit funny as all hell.

  13. Well written and informative... I'm sure this will help some of the newbies to vinyl who inevitably do not use the search function and who do not visit other sections of the board. Too bad there's a lot of trolls ragging on you for no significant reason.

  15. I deleted our back and forth because it detracted from the whole point of the post which was to tell people that Armageddon will have a copy of the record on clear. It's unmarked, and secret. It's what we like to call "fun" Go support a cool fucking record store. http://www.armageddonshop.com

  16. Yo, no lie, I am totally into pineapple in general and that def includes on pizza, but I'll share a little tip for the pizza lovers out there. Jalapeno + Pineapple is key. Doesn't matter what else is on it, but those 2 together are total win. If you don't like spicy, or don't like pineapple (esp on pizza) then disregard, you prob won't be converted, but I would say still worth a shot, unless you have stomach ailments and should avoid spicy food. It's like the Jalapeno spices it up, but the Pineapple cools it right down. Yin and Yang.

  24. Guys, you get to work with both Ben and Ethan. Ethan is a total badass just check this out. Ethan has enjoyed music all his life and is very proficient in the art of Guitar. He loves to design websites in his spare time, and created this website that you're currently loving. He also likes to ride octopus in his spare time and pretend he is a pirate in a heavy storm in the shower. Oh and just FYI, he didn't even code the website that he created. In fact he paid $40. http://www.bestwpdeals.com/aggregate-wordpress-theme/

  25. I'm really enjoying the singles they've released so far off the new album. I'm getting more of a Boxer vibe than a HV vibe, anyone else? Ordered the deluxe, haven't been this excited for a record release in awhile.

  27. i'll be another annoying "old" fan. I've always realized that Jerry was the writer but it still feels false without Layne. His voice is what drew a lot of people to the band and in some sick way his life made the music and lyrics more legit. I'm glad they finally get to tour and I'm sure it sucked wondering if he would show up to the studio every morning. I have no issues with them going on and I think Duvall is great but for me personally Layne's absence is too big. It would be like PJ without Vedder, Soundgarden without Cornell, etc. Sometimes the frontman becomes the band. The last album and this song just feels like a tribute show to me. My wife and I went out and repurchased AIC Unplugged on April 5th and blasted it all the way home. Good times.

  38. I used to handle some production work for a major label about 10 years ago. The lead times they expected were absurd, even for CD's. The best advice I can offer is to delicately explain that as demand is increasing for vinyl (especially short-run variants), lead times are also increasing. I would guess that this isn't an industry that will be quick to expand capacity, due to the capital equipment required & the fact that vinyl is still generally considered a "niche" of the overall market. Citing examples of other delayed releases is one way to justify things----but I'd also back it up by citing increased demand across the board: http://www.scribd.com/doc/118975417/THE-NIELSEN-COMPANY-BILLBOARD%E2%80%99S-2012-MUSIC-INDUSTRY-REPORT According to The Nielsen Company & Billboard's 2012 Music Industry Report: "For the fifth consecutive year, more vinyl albums were purchased than any other year in the history of Nielsen SoundScan." "In 2012, vinyl album sales reached 4.6 million in sales, breaking the previous record of 3.9 million LP album sales in 2011." "67% of all vinyl albums were purchased at an independent music store during 2012." "Vinyl album sales in 2012 were up 19% compared to 2011 and accounted for 1.4% of all album sales and 2.3% of all physical album sales."

  40. ^ Trolltastic. I at one time owned over 700 CDs. But I gave all but 10% away (you know because most of them sucked). But that's on me for buying crap. I do routinely download, lossless if practical. Nowadays anything I like I will buy its vinyl counterpart if available. Mostly because the mastering will differ, which usually means a more pleasurable sound (less hard-lmiting/brickwall filtering, dynamic compression, etc). I do urge artists to make available lossless (preferably 24-bit or otherwise gently-mastered) muisc for sale. I do have a bit of a hangup paying for a lossy file at $1 or more per song. Any decent band does offer a lossless version for about a dollar a song or less (personally I bought all the Glassjaw Our Color Green singles, RxBandits ...And the Battle Begun, and multiple Finch releases in lossless). I think that the great CD buyer's remorse syndrome I once experienced is gone, which is wonderful. The more unfortunate side of this is oftentimes a release is only available in a lossy format. That sucks. I also raise a question to those that say "I'll just go buy a t-shirt or go to the show".... well a lot of the time you cannot see the artist depending on where you live. Sometimes they don't have any good looking merch. How do you justify in said case? TL;DR- Kill People Burn Shit Fuck School

  41. For me, if I find an album I enjoy, I'll download it and listen to it two or three times. If I like it enough, I'll either buy it on vinyl or, if they don't have that particular album pressed onto vinyl, I'll either buy the album on CD or download it from their official site/Bandcamp page. If I don't like the album, I delete it from my iTunes library. That being said, I have about 14.5k songs in my iTunes library, of those about 3k or 4k I purchased as a CD or directly from iTunes, about 1.5-2k I've gotten from mp3 download codes, and the rest were either free from the artist or downloaded/borrowed from friends. I know the number of songs I've purchased doesn't even account for half of my library, and I do kind of feel guilty about that. Unfortunately, a lot of it boils down to funds and, being a college student with a part-time job that mostly pays for student loans, that's something I don't have a lot of quite yet. TL;DR I support musicians and artists that I enjoy, when I can afford it. I do feel guilty about downloading albums, but I still do it. Call me what you want. but that's just how it is.
