  2. Part of life. When I was 14 I was pissed about 16+ shows. When I was 16 I was pissed about 18+ shows When I was 18 I was pissed about 21+ shows Now I go to all the aforementioned shows and just feel plain old. You are the victim of adult problems man. It is likely all insurance related and trust me, insurance is damn expensive.

  11. Got my white Carbon earlier this week (sorry vinylfilmaholic). Sounds great. Much better than my old Technics table/Shure cart. Between this and my speaker upgrade a few months back to Definitive BP8bs I'm very pleased with my current setup. My upstairs neighbor, however... Not so much

Ok, so Turnstiles and half a dozen of his buds are meeting at Broadway at 4 AM. Seems like everyone else is going to Milwaukee. What time are you Milwaukee folks thinking about showing up? I'm thinking like 7, unless those of you with past experience can tell me why that's way too late.

  14. Behind the Mask is one of the best horror comedies I've seen, stoked for the eventual sequel. Caught a couple of indie flicks with the gal last night, both ended up being depressing as all hell. First was The Freebie, written and directed by Katie Aselton (The League). I was never a fan of Dax Shepard until I started catching him in his newer indie movies, and the guy is actual a pretty good actor and the chemistry between him and Aselton seems authentic. Overall, the movie was really great, just really depressing. Not the best date flick. Watched The Vicious Kind afterwards. Adam Scott does a great job as a crazed asshole and proves himself as more than just a comedic force. I would recommend checking this out on Netflix, though again, not a date flick at all. Somebody recommend something cute to watch dammit.

  22. I've got a few friends that are helping out at the CIMS warehouse, packing up all of the RSD stuff....bums me out that all of these releases are hanging out in a warehouse so close to my work, and that I'll miss out on RSD again this year for work....and that in our own city, we don't have a Record Store that will be carrying a fraction of these releases....bummertown

  26. So I saw these guys last night and they out on an awesome show. So much energy in the room. Got to talk to Ryan after the show about the new album. He said it is more of a progression off of Maps than EOTWN was. He said that the last record had a lot of typical pop punk elements to it. Basically Ordinary Silence is the album that should have followed Maps. They are going to be touring in support of this record a lot more than they did for the last album. As a huge fan of Maps this just makes me even more excited for this album. Cant wait!

  27. The cove is the saddest movie of all time. How can you find anything sadder than actual footage of a group of dolphins being massacred? Maybe a group of people being killed would be worse, but you can't really show that in a movie (at least a mainstream one, not those many faces of death things or whatever).

  33. i agree with this little essay a lot, actually. i wasn't condoning sharing and/or downloading by mentioning soulseek. i even mentioned you should all buy the record. i just know some people like to hear records before they actually buy them (his #4 point in the essay). people would have found out sooner or later, anyhow. i personally buy as many records as i can afford and i don't "share." having said that: BUY THE RECORD. IT'S GOOD!

  35. comments like this are one of the reasons as to why labels think it is okay to charge $30 for releases. just because songs haven't been pressed on vinyl does not mean they should cost more.
