Shit on bands here

You guys keep saying "what if it was this and what if it was that." It wasn't. Not cool. We are in unanimous agreement on that. You can't blow up the small stuff because then you lose site if what is really awful. This is dinky shit. Not an indictment of a rape culture brewing in the indie music scenes.2 points -

Had an extremely disappointing race performance yesterday. Finished a little over 24 minutes (5k). Started out with a 6:30 mile but it was 90 degrees and almost completely up and down hills and I was DONE for the last mile and half. Luckily I get to do it all over again in eight days. Gonna try to slow the start and not get so worked up. I feel like I can't get worse, as this was was worse 5k time I've had in over a year. Stay posi.2 points -

There are guys who think it is ok to just go around touching women for whatever reason without consent. It's not ok and people need to know it's not ok. While getting up on stage and kissing someone isn't rape, it IS part of "rape culture" and saying it's not a big deal just reinforces that type of behavior. Besides, there being "bigger" problems doesn't make "smaller" problems irrelevant.2 points -

But TDAG and Daisy are their best albums. I know it's a bummer when bands don't play older songs, but they can play whatever they want. They don't owe anyone anything besides a performance. There are a lot of bands I just don't bother going to see if they play around here because I know they won't play what I want to hear. Of course, I saw Taking Back Sunday and they played ONE song I recognized, so I skipped them the next time they played and it turned out they played Tell All Your Friends in full.2 points -

Competed in a Tri today. I opted for the short course since I've raced four times in five weeks in some capacity. I finished 12th overall (140 entries) and 3rd in my age group. Besides a solid bike split I put up a 5k time of 22 minutes 7:06/mi - by FAR my best tri 5k time. Proof yo:2 points -

http://www.topshelfrecords.com/artists/field-mouse/products Hold Still Life, which was co-produced by band members Andrew Futral and Rachel Browne, marks Field Mouse's first full-length that's been written and released as a full band. The album was recorded at Seaside Lounge, Brooklyn & Let 'em In, Brooklyn and mixed by Kyle Gilbride (Swearin', Waxahatchee, Upset). Upon returning from a tour with Laura Stevenson and the Cans in 2013, the band wasted no time arranging the album. Inspired by burgeoning adulthood, social overload and isolation, life in New York, and the realization that life is going by with a terrifying swiftness (plus a handful of breakup songs to boot), Field Mouse wrote and recorded the new album in late 2013. If you're a fan of artists like The Breeders, Sonic Youth, Velocity Girl, My Bloody Valentine, Beach House or Juliana Hatfield, you're gonna enjoy Field Mouse. Plus, they have a really great cover of the Twin Peaks song so there's that. /200 - Purple /300 - Rose /500 - Teal http://www.topshelfrecords.com/artists/field-mouse/products1 point

Yup. The guy was an asshole at a show. Not the first time it happened, won't be the last. I was commenting on people's anger directed at Ryan of Mixtapes. Anyone who has seen that band knows they're the most tongue-in-cheek people on the stage. Always joking around. So when I see people taking comments like that from him to heart, I find it laughable. The ladies of Pity Sex and Tigers Jaw have every right to be angry. No ones arguing that. Personally I think they should've decked the guy right there.1 point

Okay here goes... fucking Daylight/Superheaven. First off, this shit reminds me of butt rock on the real. Like indie three days grace or something. Don't get the hype, I understand the artwork and vinyl variants are cool but other than that...? Just my opinion. There's a few other bands in that scene that I feel like a ton of people like just because they feel like they need to. People who are really into RFC like allllllll of the bands. And No Sleep, etc. Don't get me wrong though, I love a lot of the bands on those labels/in that scene, but I feel like some are only getting attention for simply being on the label. Anyway, yeah. I've tried to give them like 5 chances... Daylight is butt.1 point -

You feel so? I don't know why, but I'm somehow quite the opposite...although I have been waiting for four years and was really excited, I quickly lost interest...I'm still watching the matches if possible (haven't watched a single match which started at 0:00 European Time), but many of the games have not fulfilled an expectations. Compared to the past three to four WCs, I found this to turn boring quite quickly...1 point

Not only that, but considering you can buy Buddah and Greatest Hits off the hot topic website for $45 combined, you're wanting $300+ for 5 records. That's $60 a record on average, when you can buy most for under or around $40 on Ebay. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_sacat=0&_from=R40&_nkw=blink+182+splatter&rt=nc&LH_BIN=1 Please go fuck yourself1 point -
