  2. Please, teach more general rules as I haven't lived longer than most of you to know. For fuck's sake, it's the internet and VC. Again, been around long enough to be able to draw my conclusions based on these observations. To further avoid the inevitable tautological posts that surely will follow, I'll contribute to OP. In general, I think buying a record to just hang on the wall is stupid. That said, I do understand the appeal and do it for my own practical reason. This is my first press VU & Nico (with torso back and unpeeled banana). Worth a few hundred shekels. I have a 3 year old. There's no way I'm leaving this out with my other records. This would invariably be the one my son fines and rips apart.

  3. So I've been having a lot of issues with my mental health and I spent the entire day today listening to records and trying to compile a list of upcoming releases. I think that I did a pretty good job, even if the formatting and appearance aren't the best. Anyway, you can view all of these upcoming releases here: www.melodicallydeaf.com If you think this is something that's kinda cool, please feel free to help out; let me know what I've missed or what's coming up. You can do so by replying here, but if I don't see it, feel free to PM me. Thanks for caring!

  6. Not to be that guy, but it not being a clear blue close to the blue sky meth colour is enough for me not to buy it. Oh well.

  7. I got home from work yesterday to a package from the USA that I hadn't paid for. I ordered the debut LP from the band A Band in Pictures a while back via bandcamp and when I ordered it there didn't seem to be any way to pay postage, I'm in the UK so expected it to be expensive and when I sent the payment for the LP I added a note saying let me know what postage is and I'll send it over. Not long after my paypal payment was refunded and I thought no more about it. But I get home tonight and I have a package from the band which contains the album on CD and vinyl plus a band t-shirt and a letter from the band to me apologising for it taking so long to get to me saying they had been on hiatus but were now back making music and to accept the package free of charge as they were stoked to be sending stuff over to the UK. Obviously I was very happily surprised by this and this LP has instantly gone into my most prized section, I have a new gig t-shirt and the band now have a life long fan who will be looking out for any more of their releases. I did see on the bands facebook page they had sent a similar letter and LP to someone in the US but as the LP was only a pressing of 200 I feel quite privileged as they can't have sent many out like this.

  8. Didn't say it played perfect...just that it played fine. And the record I got signed on the grooves looks awesome...wouldn't normally do it, but hey it's my record and Ill do what I want.

  15. Mine came in today, I'm in central PA. I got number 25, no tracking number was provided, and the sticker was taped to the cardboard. I think that covers everything. :-P Oh, the record looks great. Hopefully get to listen to it later tonight.

  16. That did not take long. I'll give you 30 right now.

  17. No idea why it's not, actually. A standard coke bottle blue would've been a way better choice. I will say that this is the nicest variant of the OST thus far, though.

  18. Hot Topic exclusive colored vinyl. A/B is a really cool looking translucent pink, I've actually never seen a record this color before. C/D is a cool looking orange, a little different than a standard translucent orange. Both have a bit of a swirl effect to them.

  19. Hot Topic will have colored vinyl and I believe it will be the only colored vinyl for this release.

  22. My intelligence is feeling slightly insulted right now, lol. Of course I know that Hot Topic/Fueled By Ramen didn't release a 24k gold-plated record of a Panic! At The Disco album, that you wouldn't even be able to play, for $21. That's actually kinda hilarious, omg. I know that when I first started becoming interested in vinyl, I wasn't even aware that variants other than black even existed. haha. So, that being said. If I took some time to frame it all nice in a plaque sort of fashion and someone with limited knowledge took a look at it, they might be tricked into thinking it could be worth something.

  26. I accidentally upvoted you but I meant to downvote you for making such a dumb comment. smgdh at anyone who talks shit about PIAPTK. One of the coolest labels in the game, they put out lots of great music but they're not afraid to play around with the format. Every release is a work of art.

I agree. And $10 shipping for 2-10 days ship time? Tracking is given with EVERY USPS shipment, of course there is more detailed tracking available, but still.

  34. For what it's worth, the song that they debuted is my least favorite one on the EP. I ordered this right away because anything Why? (or cLOUDDEAD) related is something I need to hear. Anna sings in a style reminiscent of Alopecia-era Why? and after the disappointment that was the Golden Tickets EP, Divorcee has temporarily satisfied my craving for more Why? circa 2008. On the track, The Last Fist, I actually thought it was Yoni on first listen. This is to be expected though, since Yoni handles all of the production here. Recurring themes include whiskey drinking, violence, regret, suspicion and mistrusting mother-in-laws. On perhaps the most personal track of this EP, Snakes and Oysters, Anna recalls some of her ill father's last words: "If I feel low and guilty after one night of drinking And I know by sixteen, must feel like your sinking Your shoulders shrinking, oh what were you thinking As I huddled by your hospital bed And slowly lowering your head, you said, 'Everything good that has happened yet... is overshadowed by regret.'" The second track, Thoughts of a Man, has Anna wondering if Yoni is being as faithful as he claims. "I left you three messages at 4am Should I believe it when you tell me that you slept in the van?" ...and later she confesses to her misstep one halloween night hoping this will make Yoni open up to her. "I kissed a boy on Halloween in a Jason mask And if I'm sorry that I did it would you take me back?" Low Piñata has Anna once again lamenting her and Yoni's relationship. "And you don't know my middle name, and all I wanted was modest fame, I know you'd like to let this go, but tonight you know we're going toe to toe, blow for blow" ...and later, "But I can't recall your middle name, whether you or I'm to blame In a perfect world we'd have no history, you'd treat me sweetly, bring me candy." Law & Order, both humorous and heartfelt, is easily the best track on the EP. "Living with you is like driving in the rain, I can't see where I'm going but I still don't press the break." ...and later, "Living with you is like hair going down the drain, We lose and lose until we're drowning in a lake." I'm sure Joyful Noise will make this EP available to stream or at least upload some of the other tracks because they are definitely worth hearing! Why? fans should definitely check out this EP!

  39. Really surprised how tame this thread is.. was expecting to come in here and see lots of Cat gifs... I agree with what a lot of people on here have said if you're going to frame it you should just prepare yourself for the fact that it could be damaged and isn't ultimately a good idea to do to a record that you want to listen to.. with that said if that's what you want to do with it then go for it.. do what makes you happy.

  40. You, nor anyone, should ever have to explain themselves to an individual named Farts. For every dumbo post in this thread, there are multiple people who got the concept and just didn't leave a post to represent their effective reading comprehension and critical thinking skills. Don't mistake the dodos for any kind of majority that needs to take up your energy. Rock on and please post those Dr Dog b-sides/side projects.

  41. For those who don't know, Matt Africa was one of the deepest record collectors in the world. His taste was legendary, even among the most respected DJ's and collectors, and he was an amazing person as well. He was killed in a car accident almost 2 years ago, leaving behind a wife and daughter, so friends have been helping his family liquidate his collection to provide for them. If you have any interest in soul/funk/jazz/hip-hop etc you need to keep an eye on the auctions coming from this account, his collection was the stuff of legend, except a real thing built by one guy with hard work and great ears. You can still hear some of his amazing podcasts here http://matthewafrica.podomatic.com RIP Matt...

  42. Between this and the Korn, when are we gonna start seeing reissues of the first 3 Limp Bizkit records. In all seriousness i will be buying this and would love a repress of the Powerman 5000 record "Tonight the Stars Revolt!" on a similarly themed colored wax.
